3. Project Purpose – Problem: To turn a heavily degraded stream that flows through the center of a small town into a resource
for aquatic organisms, for education and for the direct benefit for the citizens.

a. Short-term Goals: 1. To finish restoration site in Pioneer Park started under Prop 204 funding.
2. To develop a restoration plan for the watershed.
3. To assist local government to draft protocols and ordinances to reduce sediment contamination.
4. To produce outreach materials to explain the public role in reducing non-point source pollution.
b. Long-term Goals: 1. To continue base line water quality monitoring
2. To assist waste treatment plants in reducing the effects of tertiary treated waters on the ecology
of the watershed.
3.To identify, prioritize and start new restoration projects.
4.To develop strategies to reduce sediment load in the watershed (e.g. Storm drains)
