PS 11.3 Educational Administrator Qualifications / PR Rating:
Not Implemented
Applies To:
A - Beverly School for the Deaf Day Program
Department Program Review Findings:
The Educational Administrator does not possess either a license as a special education administrator or all of the following: license as a special educator; a minimum of a master's degree in special education or a related field; and a minimum of one year of administrative experience as required to serve in this position.
Description of Corrective Action:
See above program review finding for a description of this infraction.
Title/Role(s) of Responsible Persons:
Stefani Timmons,
Assistant Program Director, CCC / Expected Date of Completion:
05/28/2013
Evidence of Completion of the Corrective Action:
Since the time of program review, Jessica Fox has submitted all necessary documentation to ELAR to obtain her MA teaching license. Once she has this license, she will meet all of the qualifications to be an educational administrator. Unfortunately, her license has not been granted because her endorsement from her university was sent to ELAR without an official seal. Ms. Fox, has once again, requested this documentation from her university and is waiting for it to be sent from the university to ELAR. Once this is received, BSD will expedite the process and will hopefully be able to obtain a MA license for Ms. Fox.
Additionally, Ms. Fox has since received a waiver from ELAR, waiving her as a special educator for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Description of Internal Monitoring Procedures:
It is the responsibility of this administrator to ensure that Ms. Fox continues to pursue all necessary action steps towards acquiring her MA special educator's license. This will be implemented by regular review of her records and with an internal tracking system for professional staff licensing status.
