About the PZB_Tutorial.mag file
The PZB_Tutorial.mag file used during the tutorial session for Paleomagnetic Analysis Program will be changed (to be exact, the least-squares analysis data for Samples PZB 47, PZB 50, and PZB 52 were added to the file) after the tutorial is finished, because the program was designed to directly read from and write to this file. To remove the least-squares data from the PZB_Tutorial.mag file for future use, simply select those demagnetization steps and perform least-squares analysis again. This is so because the command button "Select/Remove Points for Least Square Analysis" can add or remove points for the analysis, i.e., if the steps were selected for least-squares analysis before (indicated as "Yes" under the "LSquare" column), select the steps and click the command again will remove them from the steps used for least-squares analysis. If no steps were selected, least-squares analysis will not be performed, and the previous least-squares analysis data will be removed.
Or you can copy the PZB_Tutorial_Original.mag file located in the User's Guide folder, and paste into a folder you specified (I put them in the TestData folder) and rename it as PZB_tutorial.mag .
The answer of this exercise is stored in the PZB_Tutorial_Answer.mag file located in the User's Guide folder.
Troubleshooting the Unexpectedly Quit Problem
If you try to open a *.mag file and the Paleomagnetic Analysis Program unexpectedly quit, this is probably because that particular *.mag file is specified as "Read Only" by the operating system. In this case, select that file, and used the menu command File > Properties (or Alt + F + R) to check the file's properties. Uncheck the box in front of the "Read-Only" in the "Attributes" portion, and then close the dialog box. Start the Paleomagnetic Analysis Program and open that file again, and the program should function normally.
