What's Happening

Welcome Guests! We are so glad to have you worshipping here at Lynnville Friends. Join us for coffee and fellowship in the basement following the service. There is Sunday school for kids and adults following coffee. Please fill out a welcome card located in the pew or under the chairs and drop it in the offering plate. Children’s bulletins are located at the back of the sanctuary for kids to pick up.

As a church we have the opportunity to minister at HopeMinistries in Des Moines every fourth Thursday of the month from 6-7 pm. If anyone would like to lead a month, let someone on the Missions Committee know. The following people or groups will be leading the next two months. They would love to have you join them! April 26: Verlan Vos and Small Group; May 24: Coleen Van Dyke; June 28: Pastor Jamie.

Attention Campers…..The Lynnville U.S.F.W. (United Society of Friends Women) is offering financial assistance to anyone interested in attending CampQuakerHeights this Summer. Contact Lyn Kinney at 527-3922 for more information

We have moved! Check out Stepping Stones Christian Bookstore at their new location in Grinnell. Now located at 1009 Main Street. We carry Bibles, books, cards, home decor and much more. Come check us out!

Hope Ministries will be hosting Hope 201, a volunteer enrichment program for those who volunteer and serve the people of HopeMinistries. Training will provide you with more of an understanding of the hurts and struggles the residents of HopeMinistries face on a daily basis. You can choose to attend one of the following training dates at the Berean Assembly of God Church in Pleasant Hill: Saturday, April 21 from 9-11 am; Wednesday, April 25 from 10 am-noon; Monday, April 30 from 6-8 pm.

RAGBRAI will be coming through Lynnville on Thursday, July 26. If you would be interested in organizing or working a food stand for that day please contact Pastor Jamie.

The Pella Opera House will be hosting a gospel concert by The Blackwood Quartet on Thursday, May 3rd at 12:30 and 6:30. The 6:30 show is quickly filling up but there are still plenty of open seats at the 12:30 show. For more information about The Blackwood Quartet and to get tickets go to this link:

Pastor will be out of town next weekend due to a Happy the Dog board meeting in South Dakota. We welcome Mac & Berny McDonald to fill the pulpit next Sunday.

Do you have a project at home that you could use some help with? This is an opportunity to ask our FOCUS group to provide a service for you in return for a freewill donation. Any donation received will go towards the expenses of the 2018 mission trip. Examples of tasks that the FOCUS group will do: various yard work, cleaning, painting, cooking, babysitting, etc. Maybe you would like to learn something new on the computer. We have some great students that are ready to help you out. Please contact Jer at 641-780-9972.

Camp Quaker Heights 2018 CampDates

  • June 8-10 Little Fry (K-2nd) $235
  • June 10-15 Middle/High School (7th-12th) $345
  • June 24-28 Elementary Camp (3rd-6th) $285

The grade your child is currently in determines the grade camp he/she will attend.

Register by May 20 to receive a $25 discount and be guaranteed a shirt. The church will pay half of the camp fee for any child that has attended Sunday School or Wednesday night activities for half of the 2017/18 year. For more info and to register go to: IAYM.org/EVENTS.

Senior Recognition Sunday: This will be on Sunday, May 6. Seniors – please email your senior picture to Stacey at , so she can include it in the bulletin.

7th & 8th Grade Summer Trip: Missions in Chicago. Dates have been set for Friday, August 3-Wednesday, August, 8. A mailing with more details will be sent in the coming weeks.
