AP Psychology End-of-the-Year Project 2017
For this assignment, you will have several options, all of which will require you to explore a new topic in psychology. Below are your options for what you will create, topic suggestions, and the scoring rubric. You have a lot of freedom with this assignment, so be creative and choose a topic that will interest you! You will have sufficient class time to complete this so you should not need to work at home. You may work alone or with ONE partner if you choose. Choose partners wisely. Once you have chosen what project to do and which topic, stick with it!
Choose a psychology topic that we have NOT covered this year. Research it and create a product to present to the class to inform us about the topic, current research, and any other relevant information. Typical PowerPoint presentations are NOT acceptable! Be creative and take time to create something unique. Products to create (choose one or suggest your own for approval):
- Podcast (listen to podcasts such as This American Life or TED Radio Hour for formatting ideas)
- Talk show or other video (you can interview special guests, discuss research, etc)
- Create a lesson plan about your topic and actually teach it to the class (note: lecture is often ineffective)
- Create a children’s book to “teach” the content to younger audiences in an engaging way.
- Create a model to portray your chosen concept – lots of room for creativity here.
No matter which format you choose to convey your research, you will be presenting your work to the class.
