How-to Upload Content to iPod Instructions

Extract/Unzip directions:

1. Download the content via the Online Learning Center (textbook website) by right-clicking on the download link and then selecting “Save Target As”.

2. Unzip the file onto your computer’s desktop. You might also decide to create a folder on your desktop to keep all downloaded files in one place.

3. When the download is done locate the file and right-click the zip file. If you already have an unzip application such as Winzip, PkUnzip or WinRar then select one of the “Extract” options. Most people select “Extract Here” and the file will automatically extract onto your desktop or save folder.

4. If you do not have Winzip please head over to www.winzip.com to download a trial version of winzip to extract the file.

Upload to iPod directions:

1. Make sure your iPod is plugged into your computer via the USB cable (provided) and open iTunes. Once iTunes shows your iPod connected (screenshot below) go to the Summary page. Scroll to the very bottom and select “Enable Disk Use” then click on the “Apply” button to the right of the iTunes screen.

2. On your desktop, double-click the “My Computer” icon and locate the iPod drive and double-click it.

3. Double-click on the “Notes” folder and click and drag the quiz folder into the “Notes” folder

1.  Go to your desktop and click and drag the folder into the Notes folder in your iPod.

2.  When the folder is fully copied eject the iPod from your computer.

3.  In order to access the multiple choice quizzing on your iPod click on Extras, then click on Notes

4.  Click on the folder

5.  Lastly click on “McGraw-Hill/Irwin Publishing”

Quick notes for navigating the Multiple Choice Quizzing for iPod:

1.  The scroll wheel allows you to select from the chapters available as well as the A to E multiple choice options.

2.  The center button acts as the the Enter/Selection button.

3.  In order to exit you must click the “Menu” button until you completely back out to the Root Menu or dock your iPod to your computer. Either method works.
