This work involves piling to install the new bridge piers. Nearby residents may experience some noise from these works and may notice increased truck movements and construction activity in the area. Piling will be undertaken during normal working hours, from 7am to 5pm, depending on construction conditions.
Motorists will need to access Bridge Street and Kent Street via Clarke Street during the road closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during works, via the footpath on the western side of the creek. Short waiting periods may be necessary when machinery is working close to the open footpath. Traffic control will be in place to direct pedestrians as required.
Queensland Rail apologises for any inconvenience and thanks the local community for their cooperation during these important works.
Bridge replacement works are anticipated to be completed by late 2015, weather and construction conditions permitting.
