BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The planning meeting of the Historic Kenwood Association, Board of Directors was held on
Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at 7:00 P.M. at Metro Wellness Center, 3251 3rd Ave N,
St Petersburg, FL 33713.
1. Call to Order and approval of minutes: HKNA President B. Gordon called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Approval of July meeting minutes of Tuesday, July 25, 2017 Board meeting

2. Treasurer report: Linda Kellett reported on the current budget (Attachments A, B & C)
3. 31st Street traffic study: Brenda explained the study of increased accidents on 31st Street within Kenwood. We will investigate some traffic calming measures to prevent further issues.
4. BRT update: Brenda explained the Bus Rapid Transit proposal discussion with the City Council members and BRT members. The grant request will be furthered by the BRT.
5. BungalowFest update:
a. Ad sales: Sara Ellen Lambert Burnett continues to collect monies for sales.
b. Sponsorships: Michelene Everett continues to contact possible sponsors.
c. Ten homes in three different quadrants will be on the tour.
6. HK Partnership Carrie Harrill-Smith and Michelene explained Carefest and the activities taking place Saturday, September 30, 2017. The team will be working on a house needing repair, paint, and garden landscaping. It will be a multiple visit project.
7. Kenwood Kidz: Charla Cribb reported that Splish Splash is rescheduled in the park for Saturday, September 9, 2017.
8. Public Art Project and Dining for Art: MJ and Charla reported the organizing for the Dining for Art funding project is going well and asked for hosts.
A new AEHK show for emerging artists will be held on Saturday, December 9 at Woodfield Fine Art Gallery featuring AEHK artists.
9. Street sign painting: Brenda reported that 4th Avenue HKNA street sign poles will be painted next week.
10. Local Historic Designation update: Brenda reported the City Council will review the completed application soon.
11. Playground contract: Brenda signed off on the contract for new playground equipment yesterday.
12. 2018 Board Election discussion: Carolyn Gambuti will chair the Election Committee with Carrie Harrill-Smith.
13. Police Substation open at bus transfer station: Brenda reported the opening of the substation has been successful.
14. September 6 General Meeting
a. Brian Longstreth: Come Out St Pete
b. Michael Frederick: 31 Street traffic calming
c. Food: Doc’s Louisiana Boil
15. October General Meeting Speakers: Mayoral and City Council Final Candidates Political Forum
16. September Porch Party: Friday, September 8, 2017, 7 PM hosted by Caryn Nesmith, 2059 Burlington Ave N.
14. Adjournment: A motion was made by Carolyn and seconded by Linda Kellett to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 P.M.
