1.OBJECT OF STUDY AND ITS CONTEXT.

1.1 OBJECT OF STUDY

The object of study will be elaborated on several scales for 2050 on Regional(30km) scale with smallest details on Buildingsegment(3m) level.

1.2 ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT A PROBABLE FUTURE CONTEXT

  • My assumptions about the probable future context of the object of study until 2050 are:
  • management will be initiating (!) on Global(10000km) not on Continental(3000km) not on National(300km), on District(1km) level;
  • culture will be innovative (>) on Subcontinental(1000km), on National(300km) level;
  • economy will be growing (+) on Global(10000km), on Continental(3000km), on National(300km), on Regional(30km), not on District(1km), not on Neighbourhood(300m) level;
  • technique will be internally specializing subfunctions (/) not on Buildingcomplex(30m) on Building(10m), on Buildingpart(1m), not on Element(30mm) level;
  • ecology will be differentiating into heterogeneity (|) not on Global(10000km) on District(1km) not on Buildingsegment(3m) level;
  • mass will be concentrating (C) on Continental(3000km) not on Regional(30km), on District(1km), not on Subelement(10mm) level;

while other suppositions about probable future contexts will affect the evaluation of the study ex post.

As far as this future is not desirable it will generate problems (Jong and Priemus(2002)).

1.3 FIELD OF PROBLEMS AND DESIRES

The study object derives its motivation from:

  • Buildingcomplex(30m), Supermaterial(3mm) culture;
  • Continental(3000km) ecology;
  • Buildingcomplex(30m) mass;

indicating the origin of primary actors involved in realising the results of my study.

They will support a programme of requirements to change undesired developments.

As undesired developments I consider: ....

1.4 NOT INTENDED EXPECTED IMPACTS

Unintended impacts - desirable or not - are expected on:

  • Global(10000km), Subnational(100km), District(1km) management;
  • National(300km), Subregional(10km) culture;
  • Town(3km), Buildingcomponent(300mm) economy;
  • Subcontinental(1000km), Neighbourhood(300m) technique;
  • Subregional(10km), Neighbourhood(300m), Subelement(10mm) ecology;
  • Town(3km) mass;

indicating secondary actors involved.

1.5 SUMMARISED HIGHLIGHTS OF STUDY

2.ELABORATED MOTIVATION OR PROGRAMME OF REQUIREMENTS.

With regard to my assumptions about the future context (1.2) and referring to 1.3 I derive my motivation from:

  • Buildingcomplex(30m), Supermaterial(3mm) culture;
  • Continental(3000km) ecology;
  • Buildingcomplex(30m) mass;

Earlier examples with similar context below fascinate me professionally.

(more info see:

3.ELABORATED DESCRIPTION OF OBJECT, LOCATION AND OTHER FUTURE CONTEXT FACTORS.

The object of study will be elaborated on several scales for 2050 on Regional(30km) scale with smallest details on Buildingsegment(3m) level. The object will be located in Delft

As a context on this location I assume:

  • management will be initiating (!) on Global(10000km) not on Continental(3000km) not on National(300km), on District(1km) level;
  • culture will be innovative (>) on Subcontinental(1000km), on National(300km) level;
  • economy will be growing (+) on Global(10000km), on Continental(3000km), on National(300km), on Regional(30km), not on District(1km), not on Neighbourhood(300m) level;
  • technique will be internally specializing subfunctions (/) not on Buildingcomplex(30m) on Building(10m), on Buildingpart(1m), not on Element(30mm) level;
  • ecology will be differentiating into heterogeneity (|) not on Global(10000km) on District(1km) not on Buildingsegment(3m) level;
  • mass will be concentrating (C) on Continental(3000km) not on Regional(30km), on District(1km), not on Subelement(10mm) level;

4.POSSIBLE IMPACTS OF THE OBJECT AND ACTORS INVOLVED.

As announced in my introduction I expect the following impacts from my study:

  • Global(10000km), Subnational(100km), District(1km) management;
  • National(300km), Subregional(10km) culture;
  • Town(3km), Buildingcomponent(300mm) economy;
  • Subcontinental(1000km), Neighbourhood(300m) technique;
  • Subregional(10km), Neighbourhood(300m), Subelement(10mm) ecology;
  • Town(3km) mass;

5. CONCLUSIONS

According to Jong and Voordt eds. (2002), page 28 - 31 this study proposal demonstrates:

A Affinity with designing by investigating designs and criticizing them;

B University latitude by investigating a subject relatively new to the world;

C Concept formation and transferability by searching;

D Retrievability and Accumulating capacity by using key-words;

E Methodical accountability and Depth by using a therefore designed program (future impact);

F Ability to be criticised and to criticise by exploring;

G Convergence and limitations
