WELCOME TO TUCSON!
What nature created has been enhanced by the people who have populated the area. The area is surrounded by the memory of the Ancient Ones by standing Petroglyphs and other forms of rock art adorning the cliffs. Spanish, Mexican and Anglo-American cultures have blended together to create a “New West” culture which a visitor can hear, see and feel. Just listen to a cowboy’s “yippee” or a melody from one of the many Mariachi bands.
Attitude as well as ATTIRE in the area is CASUAL - in some of the finer restaurants, the gentlemen may feel more comfortable in a sport coat not necessarily a tie. This is the place to relax and unwind. Jeans and cowboy boots are the customary attire no matter what the event. Evenings in the winter months do dip down in the desert - so for those cookouts under the stars, a jacket should be tucked in your suitcase to help keep you warm by the fire.
Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings Time. In the summer months, the Tucson Valley operates on Pacific Time (same as California) and in the winter months, we operate on Mountain Standard (same as Colorado).

TUBAC, ARIZONA AND SAN XAVIER MISSION DEL BAC
San Xavier is a gleaming white church rising from the desert as a testimonial to the faith of the early Spanish missionaries and Indians that inhabited the area. The mission suffered greatly during its early years due to revolts and raids of the natives. The oldest surviving parts date from 1757 and mystery exists as to why the east bell tower and other parts were left unfinished. The “White Dove of the Desert” is something to behold.
Next, we’ll travel to Tubac- a community with a history rich in diversity and culture. In the early 1700’s, Tubac was the first European settlement in Arizona. Those settlers fled and the new inhabitants discovered mines and the adventure-seekers poured into the booming region. The Civil War brought those good times to an end but Tubac came back to life as an artist colony in the 1900’s which carry on today. Your guests will have the opportunity to visit over 50 galleries and studios displaying modern jewelry, ceramics, woodcarvings, prints, batiks and paintings.

PIMA AIR & SPACE MUSEUMTour Duration: 4 hours

Explore aviation history at the Pima Air & Space Museum, home of the largest privately owned collection of historical aircraft in the country. From a full-scale model of the Wright Brothers’ 1903 Wright Flyer to a mock up of the world’s fastest aircraft, the SR–71, also known as “The Blackbird”, this museum is sure to interest everyone!
More than 250 military and civilian aircraft are on display, along with engines, flight simulators, uniforms and other aviation memorabilia. Some of the aircraft at the Pima Air and Space Museum are on loan from the Smithsonian, the Air Force Museum and the Navy. All craft are significant both in engineering and historical perspective.
NOTE: Some areas at Pima Air & Space Museum are not handicap accessible.

Ride through the desert with the wind in your hair and the sun on your back during our fun-filled, educational, four-wheel-drive jeep tour.
The tour begins when your guide arrives at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort to lead you through some of the most beautiful and rugged desert wilderness surrounding Tucson as you travel from civilization to primitive country inhabited only by wildlife and ghosts of days gone by.
The ultimate way to "sink your teeth" into the Sonoran desert! Take a Four-Wheel-Drive to the upper Sonoran Desert and meet first hand, the indicator of the Sonoran, the Giant Saguaro Cactus. Stand at the base of a 30 foot Saguaro and learn of its growth, the natural habitat and the Indian legends surrounding this amazing beauty.
Your Cowboy or Native American Guide will entertain you as you learn the more modern “Wild West” history of the Arizona Territory, complete with stories of the outlaws, gunfighters, lawmen and range wars of this last-to-be-tamed territory.
Once deep into the desert an experienced Naturalist will lead the group on an extensive nature walk through the desert where you will learn about plants and cacti which are unique to this desert. He will talk of the ancient history of the desert and how the Native Americans used the desert plant life for thousands of years for food, medicine, tools and raw materials for much of their daily needs. You will also learn about the fabled “Water Cactus” (the real truth about it), and the one you can actually get moisture from. You will see Native American Petroglyphs and Mortar Holes left in the rock by ancient peoples. Bring your camera because the endless views of lush desert valleys and towering mountains are ones you won't want to forget.

Treat yourself to a breathtaking outdoor tram ride through Sabino Canyon. Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, it offers views of sparkling mountain streams and majestic mountains. This is a sight not to be missed by nature lovers, or anyone who enjoys the great outdoors.
A Tucson landmark, De Grazia’s Gallery in the Sun welcomes thousands of visitors each year. Renowned Arizona master, Ted De Grazia designed this gallery to house his works and the gallery now displays his art, adobe construction, and beautiful decorative features. It’s a uniquely southwest place to explore, browse or shop.
NOTE: The last tram ride at Sabino Canyon departs at 4:00pm
