*What does it mean to trust God?

What Do We Know:

·  God is dependable—even though we don’t always trust Him.

·  Trusting God sometimes inconveniences us because it requires getting out of our comfort zone.

·  Only the Word of God can build our faith and trust in God.

·  Therefore it is through the word that we learn to have trust in others and become trustworthy—which is a fruit of the spirit.

·  Although people violate our trust, we can learn to trust again but only by faith.

·  We cannot rely on ourselves. We must rely on the Spirit of God to infiltrate our hearts and depend on Him to help us discern who, what, when and where.

·  We must believe without doubt God will supply.

·  We must learn to be content in whatever state we find ourselves in; knowing that God will give us what we need and do for us what no man can do.

·  We must establish within ourselves that God wants the best for us (Matthew 7:11,James 1:17).

Further Meditation and Study:

Genesis 22:6-8, 10-12, 14 KJV
And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11And the angel of theLordcalled unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of theLordit shall be seen. / Genesis 22:6-8, 10-12, 14 AMP
Then Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and laid iton [the shoulders of] Isaac his son, and he took thefire (firepot) in his own hand and the [sacrificial] knife; and the two of them walked on together. And Isaac said to Abraham, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” Isaac said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himselfa lamb for the burnt offering.” So the two walked on together. Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife tokill his son.But theAngel of theLordcalled to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” He answered, “Here I am.”TheLordsaid, “Do not reach out [with the knife in] your hand against the boy, and do nothing to [harm] him; for now I know that you fear God [with reverence and profound respect], since you have not withheld from Me your son, your only son [of promise].” So Abraham named that placeTheLordWill Provide. And it is said to this day, “On the mountain of theLorditwill be seenandprovided.”
Matthew 19:26 KJV
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. / Matthew 19:26 AMP
But Jesus looked at them and said,“With people[as far as it depends on them]it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Hebrews 11:17-19 KJV
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. / Hebrews 11:17-19 AMP
By faith Abraham, when he was tested [that is, as the testing of his faith was still in progress], offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises [of God] was ready to sacrifice his only son [of promise]; to whom it was said, “Through Isaac your descendants shall be called.”For he considered [it reasonable to believe] that God was able to raiseIsaaceven from among the dead. [Indeed, in the sense that he was prepared to sacrifice Isaac in obedience to God] Abraham did receive him back [from the dead] figuratively speaking.
Philippians 4:11-13; 19 KJV
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. / Philippians 4:11-13; 19 AMP
Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances.I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundanceandlive in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need.I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthensandempowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
James 2:23 KJV
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. / James 2:23 AMP
And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and this[faith]was credited to him[by God]as righteousnessandas conformity to His will,” and he was called the friend of God.
Romans 4:19-22 KJV
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. / Romans 4:19-22 AMP
Without becoming weak in faith he considered his own body, now as good as dead [for producing children] since he was about a hundred years old, and [he considered] the deadness of Sarah’s womb. But he did not doubtorwaver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strongandempowered by faith, giving glory to God, being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised. Therefore his faithwas credited to him as righteousness(right standing with God).
