

Qualifications

/ Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree nutrition through an American Dietetic Association accredited program required.
/ Three to five years of wellness experience preferred.
/ Certification/licensure as a Registered Dietician by the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.
/ Grant writing skills highly desirable.
/ Training in effective group dynamics and processes.
/ Valid Florida Driver License.

Provide district-wide health and wellness assessments, interventions, nutritional counseling and follow-up for employees.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Considerable knowledge in the field of corporate health and wellness. Ability to plan, organize, monitor, implement, and evaluate programs. Ability to effectively train and motivate people. Considerable knowledge of nutritional prescriptions in wellness programs. Knowledge and/or training in web page design and video production. Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills and abilities. Knowledge and/or skills in grant writing.
Performance Responsibilities: Essential Functions
/ Work with Wellness Manager to assess the health and wellness needs of BCSB employees as designed by the Center for Disease Control and the American Dietetic Association.
/ Work collaboratively with local health providers and agencies to promote health and fitness.
/ Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for employees.
/ Work with individual schools to develop a multi-disciplinary team approach to a Comprehensive School Health Program as designed by the Department of Education and the Center for Disease Control.
/ Research current topics and best practices in promoting healthy lifestyles for Brevard County employees and students.
/ Promote and assist with wellness screenings for all employees including coronary risk profile, glucose, mammography, prostate, skin and osteoporosis.
/ Conduct employee fitness assessments, and develop an intervention plan according to individual’s health status.
/ Provide nutritional counseling as needed.
/ Assist in the coordination annual health surveys for all employees.
/ Promote medical self-responsibilities and self-care annually to all employee groups.
/ Work closely with district personnel on web page design and video production.
/ Identify and coordinate health related grant funding opportunities.
/ Coordinate annual health surveys.
/ Provide outstanding customer service, and use positive interpersonal communication skills.
/ Make all decisions and perform all tasks in accordance with Brevard Public Schools’ Organizational Values.
/ Ensure compliance with Board rules and applicable federal laws and regulations.
