Page 24: Figure 1-3 in the Routing Table B -> 10.1.10 should be 10.1.1.0

Page 206: first column heading in Table 6-4 should read Point-to-Multipoint Nonbroadcast.

Page 258: In Example 7-14, the second serial0.1 should be serial0.2

Page 260: Change "network 10.0.0.0 0.255.255.25 area 0" to "network 10.0.0.00.255.255.255 area 0"; In

Example 7-15, the IP address should be 10.1.3.1 255.255.255.0.

Page 303: Change "0.0.0.192" to "0.0.0.191"; Question 13, change "144.111.254.255" to

"144.111.255.255"

Page 320: Question 13, change "144.111.254.255" to "144.111.255.255"

Page 328: Table 9-8, under SubnetRange for Area 0, change "0.0.0.16" to "10.0.0.16"

Page 330: Scenario 9-2, the answer says “router ospf 200”, but should read “router ospf 100”.

Page 349: Table 10-4, under Integrated IS-IS next to Designated router (DR), change "active higher" to

"active and has a higher"

Page 357: Figure 10-5 should read:

"Figure 10-4 shows area 0001 as the backbone area, connecting the additional area 0100 to the

network. It also shows the communication between L!, L1-2 and L2 routers. Figure 10-5 shows

the logical communication or adjacencies set up between the routers in figure 10-4. "

Page 426: Figure 12-7, The link from A to C should make contact on C at S0.

Change the following addresses:

A S0 10.100.100.34/29

B S0 10.100.100.33/29

C S0 10.100.100.35/29 (includes link to A and B)

C S1 10.100.100.66/30 (only link to G)

G S0 10.100.100.65/30

In addition to changing the subnet masks, s0 and s1 are backward on C.

Page 432: There is a line in the configuration of Router A that reads:

Interface serial 0

Change the "ip address" command under it to:

Ip address 10.100.100.34 255.255.255.248

Page 448: last line: Change to read, "When the neighbor receives a multicast update, it replies with a

unicast acknowledgement. If, for some reason, the updating router does not receive the reply

then it will repeat the advertisement as a unicast to that receiver. If acknowledgement is not

received after the original multicast and fifteen follow on unicasts, the neighbor is removed from

the neighbor table and all associated routes are lost.”

Page 461: The paragraph immediately above Table 13-4 should read, “The equation for metric, with

default values in place, resolves to:

Metric= ((10,000,000/lowest link bw along path in kpbs) +sum of delays) *256”.

Page 462: The second equation at the top of the page, the one following the sentence which begins “If K5

= 0…”, should read:

metric=k1*bw + k2*bw/ (256-load) + k3*delay

The last equation at the top of the page should read:

metric=metric*k5/ (reliability+k4)

Page 497: Table 14-9, line 2 [row Router(configs-router)#network network number wildcard-mask],

change text to read: "Identifies interfaces that should participate in EIGRP".

Page 512: Question #14 What is the administrative distance ofa static route that has been configured to

point to the outgoing interface?

The correct answer should be d. 1

Page 530: Step 10: “choose the most recent route is incorrect.” Text should read, “choose the oldest route.”

Page 625: Figure 17-4, change both instances of "EIGRP" to "OSPF"

Page 638: Change the router output to: Router(config-router)#distance eigrp internal-distance external-

distance

Page 647: Figure 17-11. Left side of diagram shows E0: 190.10.10.10.1

It should read E0: 190.10.10.1

Page 655: Figure 17-13, add the word "No" on the arrow under the diamond labeled

"Distribute list on interface?"

Page 659: Figure 17-14, change "EIGRP 200" to "IGRP 200"

Page 676: Example 18-1, change "set add" to "set"

Page 680: 3rd paragraph, change "process-switch" to "process-switched"

Page 681: In paragraph labeled "set interface", change "process switch lookup"

to "process-switched lookup"

Page 703: Question 4, change "subnet" to "subnets"

Page 708: First paragraph, change "EIGRP" to "IGRP"

Page 767: Question 12:

Chapter One – Do I Know This Already?

The answer should be: a, c, d.

Page 783: Question 18:

The correct answer is:

RIPv2 differs from RIPv1 in the following ways:

*v2 uses multicasts instead of broadcasts

*v2 supports classless routing

*v2 supports authenticated updates

-Both protocols use the same metric and the same timers

Page 797: Chapter 8, Question 6, the correct answer is B.

Page 814: Question 5 answer, make the word "show" bold in "show clns interface"

Page 833: Answer to Question 21, make the word "show" bold in "show ip bgp

neighbor"
