EXPERIENCE THE BEST-KEPT BEAUTY SECRET OF THE INTERNATIONAL JET SET
As Pioneering Skincare System Margy’s Monte Carlo Launches at The Peninsula Spa

A name that conjures up images of glitz, glamour and the international jet set, Monaco is virtually synonymous with notions of beauty, elegance and sun-kissed refinement. Drawing inspiration from this French Riviera lifestyle, The Peninsula Hong Kong is offering guests the chance to experience one of the principality’s most revered exports with the launch of a new treatment and product line by Margy’s Monte Carlo at The Peninsula Spa.

Launching exclusively in Hong Kong at The Peninsula, Margy’s Monte Carlo is an anti-ageing programme created by renowned beauty expert Margie Lombard and used by a who’s who of the world’s most beautiful and famous women. Featuring four unique, highly effective facial treatments that incorporate a range of rare active ingredients and high-quality, Swiss-made products developed specifically to slow down the signs of ageing, the Margy’s Monte Carlo spa menu is available at The Peninsula from June 2015.

The treatments on offer include The Ultimate Aesthetic Facial Treatment by Margy’s, a cutting-edge therapy that uses monopolar-focussed radio frequencies and ultrasound to the dermis, stimulating collagen growth to tighten skin, contour the face and reduce wrinkles. Made possible by a revolutionary platform, this facial treatment delivers immediate face-lifting results.

The most sought-after name in beauty treatments and products in Monaco, Margy’s Monte Carlo boasts a client list that includes such esteemed names as Shirley Bassey, Claudia Schiffer, Tina Turner and Princess Charlene of Monaco, many of whom have been using the programme for years. Indeed, it is not uncommon for Margy’s clients to fly back and forth to Monte Carlo specifically to receive the brand’s signature facials.

What makes the Margy’s Monte Carlo range of products so effective is that they contain all the basic biometric ingredients and active compounds that comprise the structure of the skin, allowing them to specifically target the main cause of progressive skin degradation, which is inflammation.

Over time, the epidermis becomes inefficient at responding to aggressors such as inflammation, leading to the development of wrinkles and other signs of ageing. Margy’s products work to limit the damage caused by these aggressors, ensuring that the skin remains balanced, hydrated and in optimum condition.

To do this, the various anti-ageing ingredients are selected to meet the needs of the skin at each stage of its life. These include oxidoreductase, an essential compound that combats a variety of skin aggressors; a vitamin A, E and B5 complex; active compounds extracted from land and marine plants; essential oils; and hyaluronic acid to enhance skin hydration and boost the function of the active compounds.

To ensure that the treatments are administered exactly as intended and with the correct, highly skilled techniques, The Peninsula Spa’s Senior Therapist travelled to Monaco for one month of intensive training at Margy’s Monte Carlo Institute.

The Collagen Anti-Ageing Facial by Margy’s Monte Carlo (60 minutes; HK$ 2,300) uses highly pure active ingredients to transform the appearance of the skin. As well as being intensively hydrating, this facial smooths wrinkles and slows the appearance of new signs of skin ageing.

The Haute Couture à la Carte Collagen Facial by Margy’s Monte Carlo (90 minutes; HK$ 2,870) begins with a skin analysis and skincare consultation to determine the optimum treatment combination. According to the results of the consultation, the therapist then selects one of the highly active face masks featuring Pure Collagen, Hyaluron Collagen, Vitamin C Collagen or Botolift Collagen. Before applying the mask, the skin is lightly steamed and algae patches are gently massaged into the face. The Extra Rich Firming Mask is then massaged into the skin, creating an exceptional base layer of moisture while visibly reducing fine lines and promoting a smooth and radiant appearance from the first application. Finally, a neck and shoulder massage is performed, leaving the skin more balanced and thoroughly revitalised.

But it’s not only women who can experience the benefits. The Super Lift Vitamin C Facial for Men by Margy’s Monte Carlo (60 minutes; HK$ 2,300) is designed to reinvigorate tired and congested skin to prevent premature ageing. This treatment begins with a skin analysis consultation followed by a 15-minute facial massage using the Extra Rich Firming Mask. The skin is then lightly steamed before being given a further massage using Margy’s signature “lift up” techniques. Hot towels are used to soften the bristles and open pores before a Collagen Vitamin C mask is applied to leave skin feeling lifted, radiant and balanced. A shoulder, neck and scalp massage completes the treatment.

The Ultimate Aesthetic Facial Treatment by Margy’s (1 hour 40 minutes; HK$ 7,800) is a highly effective treatment that uses revolutionary technology to administer ultrasonic waves and controlled warmth to the skin’s deeper tissues. This pioneering treatment transforms the skin from the inside out by stimulating the growth of fresh new collagen and new elastin with collagen refill technology, tightening skin, reducing wrinkles and combating the signs of ageing, leaving skin looking and feeling smoother, visibly firmer and younger, where optimal results will be seen within three months. A customised programme of four treatments within four weeks is required and monthly maintenance treatments should follow.
