ORDINANCE 2002-02

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF ISLANDHEIGHTS,

COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY,

AMENDING ORDINANCE 2001 – 01, FIXING AND

DETERMINING ANNUAL SALARY AND HOURLY WAGE

OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF THE BOROUGH OF ISLANDHEIGHTS

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE BOROUGH OF ISLANDHEIGHTS, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY,as follows, until a subsequent salary ordinance is adopted:

SECTION 1: The maximum salary ranges per annum for the following officers and employees of the Borough of Island Heights shall be as follows:

J.Chief Financial Officer$30,000.00

L.Purchasing Agent/Bookkeeper$35,000.00

M.Tax Assessor$15,000.00

N.Public Works Superintendent$60,000.00

O.Assistant Public Works Superintendent$50,000.00

P.Clerk of the Public Works$15,000.00

Q.Other Permanent Borough Employees$42,000.00

R.Police Lieutenant$60,000.00

SECTION 2: The foregoing salaries and wage scales shall be retroactive to January 1, 2002. The step in the salary range for each employee shall be determined by the Governing Body.

SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances heretofore adopted in connection with the aforementioned subject matter are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4: If any part of this ordinance are held invalid for any reason, such decision shall not effect the validity of the remaining parts thereof.

NOTICE

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced and passed on first reading at a regular meeting of the governing body of the Borough of Island Heights held on May 7, 2002. Further notice is hereby given that the said Ordinance will be considered for final passage and adoption at the regular meeting of the governing body to be held at the IslandHeightsMunicipalBuilding, East End & Van Sant Avenues, Island Heights, New Jersey at 6:30 p.m., on May 28, 2002.
