Do You Have Any Tours Available for Children Who Do Not Meet the 14 Year Old Age Requirement?
- Do you have any tours available for children who do not meet the 14 year old age requirement?
- Unfortunately, we do not currently have any tour options available for children who are under 14 years of age, due to safety guidelines that we have in place in the plant.
- Is the tour handicap accessible?
- Our tour is completely handicap accessible in accordance with legal guidelines.
- Do you have wheelchairs available for tour guests?
- We do not have wheelchairs available for tour guests on site. We encourage guests who feel they need assistance to bring a wheelchair or walker with them. During the tram portion of the tour, guests will be required to transfer from the wheelchair to the tram. Guests will need to be able to transfer from their wheelchair either by themselves or with the assistance of a member of their party.
- Do you have tours available in other languages, such as German or Spanish?
- Our tour is only offered in English.
- Is there a place onsite to eat lunch or get snacks?
- No food or beverages are permitted during the tour. However, either before or after your tour, you can visit Das Café, located in the Volkswagen Academy, which is open to the public. There are also vending machines in that area for public use.
- What do I need to wear to tour the factory?
- For your safety, we require that all tour guests wear long pants and closed toe shoes. No shorts, skirts, flip-flops or high heels.
- Is there preferred parking for visitors?
- We do have a limited number of visitors’ spaces available. If those are filled, guests are free to park in the general parking area. We recommend that guests arrive a few minutes early to allow for parking and walking time.
- How far in advance should we book?
- Since the demand is high and the space is limited, tours tend to book up quickly. We encourage you to contact us at least a few weeks in advance to get the time that you prefer.
- We have more than 20 people in our group. Can you accommodate us?
- We can divide your group to do multiple tours. For instance, a group of 30 could do one tour at 9:30 a.m. and one tour at 11:30 a.m., if the dates and times are available. We do not conduct more than one tour at a time.
- How much does the tour cost?
- There is no charge for the tour.
- Can we take pictures?
- You are not permitted to photograph anywhere inside the plant. If you would like a group photo, you may take those outside the building.
- We would like more information about a specific topic. Can the tour be specialized for our group?
- The tour that we offer is a standard public tour that is designed to give an overview of the factory. It is not customizable to specific groups.
- We would like to start the tour at a different time. Are the tour times adjustable?
- The times are chosen in order to keep with the flow of production in the plant, keeping in mind the scheduled production breaks. For that reason, we do not adjust the tour start times.
- Is the factory open for tours on holidays?
- The factory is closed for tours on holidays.
- Is my tour reservation a guarantee?
- While we will make every effort to honor your reservation, Volkswagen Chattanooga reserves the right to cancel the tour at any time as deemed necessary by management.
- What is the best way to get to the plant?
- FROM ATLANTA:Follow I-75 North to Chattanooga. Take Exit 9 for Volkswagen Drive. At the light, turn left onto Volkswagen Drive. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit and continue on Volkswagen Drive. At the second traffic circle, take the 1ST exit. Turn right and continue to Visitor Parking on left.
- FROM NASHVILLE:Follow I-24 East to Chattanooga, and then merge onto I-75 North. Take Exit 9 for Volkswagen Drive. At the light, turn left onto Volkswagen Drive. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit and continue on Volkswagen Drive. At the second traffic circle, take the 1st exit. Turn right and continue to Visitor Parking on left.
- FROM KNOXVILLE:Follow I-75 South to Chattanooga. Take Exit 9 for Volkswagen Drive. At the light, turn right onto Volkswagen Drive.
