WBL School Counselors in Industry Project

Description: Work Based Learning Counselors in Industry is a summer internship project that allows Indiana School Counselors to gain valuable industry knowledge while completing an internship with a partnering business or industry and participating in an industry tour of high demand fields. It allows counselors the opportunity to apply the principles of Work Based Learning and to meet and work with other CTE teachers and counselors. The experience will also build stronger partnerships with local businesses and industries and allow the participant to gain valuable experience and knowledge about local companies while expanding program partnerships. /
April 28, 2017 Notification of applicant acceptance
June TBD, 2017 Training day for all project participants
June 10- July 24 Due dates for Project Internship Completion. Selected candidates may have flexibility in completing the internship hours during this time frame.
August TBD, 2017 Wrap-up meeting and project presentations
August 2017-May 2018 Presentations at two Indiana Professional Development Events
As always, final funding is subject to Indiana’s receipt of federal Perkins funding. /
