INVITATION TO REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED AND AFFECTED PARTY AND COMMENT ON THE DRAFT BASIC ASSESSMENT REPORT FOR THE PROPOSED WALKVERVILLE VILLAGE MEWS DEVELOPMENT, WALKERVILLE, MIDVAAL LOCAL MUNICIPALITY
Notice is hereby given that the applicant, Walkerville Village Mews plans to develop a retirement village (to be called Walkerville Village Mews) on Portion 174 (of 29) of the farm Faroasfontein 372-IQ. The site measures 20,298ha and is situated on the corner of the R557 and R82 (Old Vereeniging Road) in Walkerville.
EnviroSynergy Consulting (Pty) Ltd as an independent environmental consultant has been appointed to facilitate the environmental process on behalf of the applicant. Application has been made under Government Notice No. 983 and Government Notice No. 985 (of NEMA) to undertake certain listed activities associated with the project by way of a Basic Assessment Process. Application is also made for a Water Use License terms of Section 21 (f) and (g) of the National Water Act, 1998 (Act No. 36 of 1998) for an on-site treatment package plant.
The development measuring around 19.872ha involves the following:
· Retirement housing (200units)
· Community Centre/Assisted Living Units
· Private Open Space Areas
· An on-site treatment package plant ((estimated volume to be treated is 160m3 per day)
· An on-site reservoir (storage volume of more than 250 cubic metre)
