Dear colleagues!

February, 24-27, 2013 a Russian-German workshop “Biocompatible Materials and Coatings: Fundamental Problems & Trends, Biomedical Applications” (BMC-2013) is organized by Tomsk Polytechnic University

Goals:

1)Discussions on the current state and fundamental issues of global trends in the field of medical materials;

2)Discussions on the plans for prospective research and joint efforts of the researchers in Russia and Germany to solve key problems in the biomedical industry;

3)Coordination of the activities of Russian and foreign experts in the field of biomedical materials science;

4)Discussions on the establishment of the Russian Society for Biomaterials.

Research objectives of the seminar:

1)Alloys on the basis of Ti, Zr, Nb and other novel materials in either nanostructured or ultrafine-grained state in medicine.

2)Ceramics and organic materials in medicine.

3)Biodegradable biopolymers in modern reconstructive medical technology and pharmacology;

4)The perspectives for the development of the modification methods and fictionalization of the surfaces of medical implants to address the issues of cell biology, bioengineering and medicine;

5)The reaction of stem cells on the local factors of natural and artificial microenvironment.

6)The interaction of cells and bacteria with the nanoscaled objects;

7)Implementation of X-ray hierarchical imaging for life sciences.
