Wisconsin Supreme Court Debate To Be Broadcast Statewide March 18

Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates Rebecca Bradley and JoAnne Kloppenburg will discuss issues central for their run for a seat on the state’s highest court in a debate that be will be broadcast statewide 7 p.m. Friday, March 18.

Live from the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, the 2016 State Supreme Court Debate will be broadcast on Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) and Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR), and streamed online at WisconsinVote.org and jsonline.com. The debate is presented by the partnership of Wisconsin Public Television, Wisconsin Public Radio and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The debate will occur less than two weeks before the April 5 general election that will decide whether the incumbent Bradley or challenger Kloppenburg will win a 10-year term on the Supreme Court.

WPT's Frederica Freyberg and WPR’s Shawn Johnson will moderate the debate.

Former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Janine Geske and UW-Madison School of Journalism Professor Michael Wagner will participate in a live online chat at WisconsinVote.org during the debate for viewers to weigh in and share their thoughts on the candidates' performance. The 2016 State Supreme Court Debate is part of the partnerships’ yearlong 2016 WisconsinVote.org election coverage.
