  1. SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK!

All Winterset Park Swimming Pools are “Swim at your own risk pools.” A Pool Attendant or Pool Committee member may or may not be on duty during operating hours.

  1. POOL MANAGEMENT COMPANY FOR THE 2013 POOL SEASON:

Blue Valley Pool Management will manage the day-to-day operations of all community swimming pools. This company is responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment at the pools.

  1. DATES OF OPERATION:

The Winterset Park Swimming Pools will be open from Saturday May 24th thru the Monday of Labor Day Weekend September 2nd.

The Pool Committee reserves the right to change the length of the pool season at any time.

  1. HOURS OF OPERATION:

In order to best utilize our resources for the pool, the following schedule has been adopted for the 2013 swim season. Please note that there are some time variations throughout the season which were developed around the school calendar and as a result of past usage. On any occasions where the pools have been rented for a private party, they will close at 8 pm.

ALL POOLS WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE SEASON AFTER SEPT. 2ND.

All three pools are available for private use rental during the late evening hours. Please contact the office at 524-4119 for availability and to make your reservation.

The Pool Committee reserves the right to change the hours of operation at any time.

Please watch the newsletter and signage at the pools for any changes in operational dates and time.

5.  All residents must sign in with last name and lot number. Guest must be accompanied by the resident.

6.  The pools are for Winterset Park residents (homeowners and legal residents, e.g. children). Therefore, frequent and/or numerous (not more than 5) guests are NOT permitted. Sign-ins will be monitored and abuse of guest privileges will be reviewed by the Pool Committee.

7.  Children that are not 12 years of age by Labor Day of the current year must be accompanied by a parent or guardian that is a minimum age of 15.

8.  Children 5 years old and under may use the Family Garden splash play garden and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

9.  Adult Swim (for ages 18 & over) will be during the last 10 minutes of each hour except for the last hour of the evening when no adult swim will be called.

10.  The use of Nerf, floatation devices and water guns will be at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty. No Frisbees, tennis balls or hard balls of any kind are allowed.

11.  Non-alcoholic beverages must be in plastic or aluminum containers. No alcoholic beverages during regular operating hours.

12.  No tobacco products, glass or pets allowed.

13.  Water Slide Rules: Community Center Pool & Winterset Valley Pool

·  Only one person on the slide at a time.

·  Only one person on the ladder at a time.

·  Do not dive, kneel or stop in the slide.

·  At the end of the slide, obey all instructions & exit quickly.

·  No toys may be taken down the slide.

·  ‘Water Wings’ and life jackets are not allowed.

·  Slide must be ridden with feet entering water first.

14.  All swim apparel must be tasteful. No cut-off jeans. Swim diapers are required for infants.

15.  No one will be admitted with open sores.

16.  The Lifeguard on duty is responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment to the residents and their guests. Inappropriate and/or unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. The lifeguard, management company and pool committee reserves the right to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment through the use of suspension of swimming privileges. Inappropriate or unacceptable behavior will be handled at the discretion of the pool management company.

Under-age swimmers with behavior issues will lose swimming privileges and not allowed to swim without parental support of all rules and regulations.

17.  Residents are responsible for their guests and may have their swimming privileges revoked due to the inappropriate or unacceptable behavior of their guests.

Inappropriate and unacceptable behavior includes, but not limited to, the following:

·  Foul language

·  Running

·  Shoving

·  Holding under water

·  Horseplay

·  Abusive behavior

·  Choking

·  Diving, flipping, splashing, dunking or riding on shoulders.

·  Leaving trash: pool area must be kept clean.

·  Jumping off the dividing wall in the Community Center Pool or the Valley Pool or the waterfall wall at the Valley Pool.

18.  Incidents that cause the closing of a pool or additional work on the part of the management company, i.e. treatment of the pool, will be reviewed with the possibility of revocation of swimming privileges. If the incident results in damage to the pool, pool area, or required the treatment of pool, the resident will be responsible for reimbursing the Community Association before being

re-admitted to the pool.

19.  RESIDENTS SHOULD RETAIN THIS COPY OF THE RULES FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
