2Commencement
This List commences on the day after it is registered.
3Listing of specified entities
For subregulation 17E(3) of the Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions— Iran) Regulations 2008, Schedule 1 lists specified entities.
NoteSubregulation 17E(2) of the Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions— Iran) Regulations 2008provides that it is a contravention of subregulation 17E(2) to conduct business with:
(i)a specified entity;
(ii)an individual or entity acting on behalf of, or at the direction of, the specified entity;
(iii)an entity owned or controlled, whether or not by illicit means, by the specified entity,
other than in accordance with anauthorisation granted by the Minister for Foreign Affairs pursuant to regulation 17F.
4Effective date for listing of a specified entity
For subregulation 17E(2) of the Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions— Iran) Regulations 2008, the date on which the listing of a specified entity in Schedule 1 (the relevant entity) takes effect shall be:
(a)for a person referred to in subregulation 17E(1) of the Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions— Iran) Regulations 2008 who is conducting business with the relevant entity on the date on which the relevant entity was listed in Schedule 1 (the listing date), the thirtieth day following the listing date;
(b)in all other circumstances, the listing date.
Note A person referred to in subregulation 17E(1) of Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions— Iran) Regulations 2008 is a person who is:
(a)an Australian national; or
(b)subject to Australian jurusdiction; or
(c)an entity incorporated in Australia; or
(d)an entity subject to Australian jurisdiction.
