RACE 1 – CRESSY CHAFF CUTTERS 3YO – 2180 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from FLYLIKA HAWK, FAMILY ORPHAN and MICKWILLREV.
FLYLIKA HAWK galloped out and has been placed on its last chance in the draw in future standing start events.
LE WI BULENT galloped out and has been placed out of the draw in future standing start events.
LE WI BULENT broke entering the first turn. Stewards inquired into the reasons for LE WI BULEN breaking and after taking evidence from drivers Dylan Ford (LE WI BULENT), Gareth Rattray (MICKWILLREV) and Todd Rattray (KARALTA DAZZLER), acting on their own observations and viewing the official race replays Mr Rattray was charged under the provisions of AR 163(1)(a), the particulars being that racing into the first turn as the driver of MICKWILLREV he allowed that horse to shift from a position half a cart off the fence to a position wider on the track and as a result LE WI BULENT was checked and broke. After considering evidence from Mr Rattray in defence of his not guilty plea and watching the official replays Mr Rattray was found guilty of the charge and his licence to drive was suspended for a period of 2 race dates, commencing midnight 23rd March 2014 and expiring midnight 6th April 2014. In determining penalty stewards considered Mr Rattray’s good record under this rule.
FLYLIKA HAWK hung in during the event.
AGENT LIZBON hung in during the event before tiring to be beaten by 70 metres. Connections have been advised that the filly has been placed on its last chance to race truly.
RACE 2 – THE ADVOCATE MOBILE DIVISION ONE – 2180 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from BOBBYJOE.
JOE CABLE which had not started in an event since 12th June 2012 underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run.
Gareth Rattray was a late driver replacement on JOE CABLE.
IM SCARLETT hung out and raced roughly entering the home straight on the first occasion.
LITTLEMISS HEATHER was held up for clear racing room rounding the home turn.
RACE 3 – CHRIS MCCRAE ELECTRICAL MOBILE DIVISION TWO – 2180 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from STAREESHAR.
Gareth Rattray was a late driver replacement on KINDA GREY.
BUCKINGHAM BOY which had not started in an event since 8th January 2012 underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was passed to fit to run.
APPLE which had not started in an event since 18th March 2012 underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run.
ROCKET SEAL shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. Driver Todd Rattray was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR 162(1)(www).
RACE 4 – FRANK CRAWFORD EMORIAL MOBILE DIVISION ONE – 2180 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from SKATING BOOTS.
JILLIBY DALLAS which had not started in an event since 18th April 2012 underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run.
ROBERT MOREAU hung in during the event.
GRINIFYOUDARE tired over the concluding stages of the event.
RACE 5 – BEAUMONT TIMBER HARVESTING MOBILE TWO – 2180 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from ALMONDINE GEM.
Race abandoned due to the wet track being unsuitable for the use of the mobile barrier.
RACE 6 – NW TAS FOREST INDUSTRIES STAKES – 2500 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from BONFIRENITE and TALKABOUT DEXTER.
TALKABOUT DEXTER broke on the first turn. Connections have been advised that the gelding has been stood down from racing for a period of 10 days and until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
RACE 7 – BP LIZA STORM 2YO – 1892 METRES
SAFETY GIRL galloped out. Connections have been advised that the filly has been placed on its last chance in the draw in future standing start events.
WHATASPORTSMAN which was fractious at the start before galloping out has been placed on its last chance in the draw in future standing start events.
Racing into the first turn KENDARA DOC hung out and then broke and as a result NIVEK and MEI GEI were both checked and WHATASPORTSMAN was inconvenienced. Connections of KENDARA DOC have been advised that the filly has been placed on its last chance to race truly.
SAFETY GIRL was tightened and broke momentarily racing into the home straight on the first occasion. No action was taken against the filly.
Driver Paul Ashwood (SAFETY GIRL) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 156(2) in that he used his whip with a freehand on 3 occasions prior to the 200 metres and was fined the sum of $200.
RACE 8 – BOB FRENCH MEMORIAL – 2180 METRES
Pre race swab samples were taken from NEW INTEREST and BETTORS EXPRESS.
Steve Davis was a late driver replacement for METROLIZA.
PADDYS ACE galloped out. Connections have been advised that the gelding has been placed on its last chance in the draw in future standing start events.
NEW INTEREST which galloped out has been placed on its last chance in the draw in future standing start events.
Shortly after the start NEW INTEREST shifted in whilst galloping and checked PADDYS ACE, both horses then locked wheels for a short distance.
GENERAL
Driver James Johnson was unable to attend today’s race meeting and was replaced by the following drivers:

Prior to the running of Race 5 steward’s deemed the track unsuitable for mobile barrier use and abandoned this event. Race 6 was then rescheduled to run at 5:54pm with Race 7 and 8 to remain at their scheduled times.
