Welcome, introductions, announcements / We were excited to see such a GREAT turnout for the meeting at the new time of 11-12:30pm.
We reviewed the purposes of the Healthy Community Coalition.
Primary purposes:
·  A shared learning community around health and wellness
·  A platform for "think tanking" on ad hoc concerns attendees bring to the table
Secondary purposes:
·  A networking opportunity for attendees
·  Communication/connecting residents of the valley
·  Information Sharing/Clearinghouse for the Valley
·  Encouraging promotion and use of agencies (need more definition)
·  Evaluation of initiatives
·  Coordination between the sectors
Attendees made a variety of timely announcements related to upcoming events. / N/A
Review of Our Group Intentions and Shared Purpose / Our Group Intentions:
·  Start and end on time
·  Work toward specific goals while fostering innovation and creativity
·  Assume positive intent
·  Maintain an environment of compassion and forgiveness
·  Be respectful by avoiding side conversations and using deep listening
·  Seek to understand
·  Strive to stay on task
·  Continually work to build trust and integrity
·  Make room for purposeful pauses and reflection (add to the beginning of the meeting)
Our shared purpose or goal for 2014-15 is to reduce barriers to create a more collaborative, connected Snoqualmie Valley by:
·  increasing communication about services
·  teaching/guiding public how to navigate the system
·  connecting agencies in meaningful ways
Moving to Solutions: Compiling resources or services available within the coalition / At the January meeting, the group selected 3 solutions that we felt we should move forward with:
·  Map current resources geographically and then…
·  Crosslink our websites as much as possible
·  Seek funding to establish a Community Navigator type of program
We also discussed the importance of the following strategies to our solutions, regardless of which solution we move forward with:
·  Design a rural, culturally competent model
·  Explore funding opportunities
·  Engaging with Kathy Lambert’s office with this work
·  Build individualized contacts with service providers to gather survey data as needed
We decided to start with mapping the organizational resources for those attending the HCC meetings first.
We decided that our effort will be divided into two phases. Phase 1 will reach those seeking information and Phase 2 will build the general public’s awareness and knowledge about valley resources.
At the February meeting, the group spent time discussing how we could compile the available information about services/resources in the Snoqualmie Valley.
·  Laura S shared the Quick Resource Guide and the group discussed the need for an online interactive list.
·  We discussed the need for multiple “touch” or “access” points with different sectors. Some sectors will do better with an online version and others will do better with a print version.
·  We discussed the challenges of keeping accurate dates, open and closed information, etc.
·  It was decided that we should make better use of the Snoqualmie Valley Community Network’s Quick Resource Guide, particularly the online version.
·  Laura invited the group to review the Quick Resource Guide (click here) before the next meeting for completeness.
·  Ross M suggested that it needs to be easier to find on the Network’s website and could use some branding. / NA
Next Steps / Review the Quick Resource Guide (click here) before the next meeting for completeness. / Review and Update the Quick Resource Guide (click to review document)
Come prepared to brainstorm how to get the word out about the Quick Resource Guide
**an afterthought from Ross: consider how to change the online list (name, look, etc to make it more appealing). Maybe utilize a clickable button with a recognizable icon on it.
