Introduction
After a number of people have recently been experiencing problems installing and running the PhatNoise USB drivers, I decided to embark on a mission to see if there were updated drivers available.
After detailed examination of the existing files, I was able to find out that the Kenwood DMS cradle uses boards provided by In-Systems Design which in turn was bought out by Cypress Semiconductor.
After registering with their website I found some drivers labelled version 6.01 but failed to successfully make these drivers work.
I did find some archived drivers labeled version 5.16, using the same base technology and have successfully modified the INF (Windows Driver) files to support the PhatNoise USB 1.1 cradles.
Compatibility
These USB drivers have been tested on cradles labeled as ‘USB Cradle KHD USB1’ only at this time, and on the Windows XP operating system.
Please note, although these drivers are NEWER than the PhatNoise versions, they are still reasonably old.
(Phatnoise last drivers dated 2001, these drivers dated June 2002)
