“Five Really Awesome Words” pt. 4

“Waldo” is always so inconspicuous due to his clothes matching so many others around him.

Complete number 1 AND 2… 

  1. Sentences (on notebook paper)

Use each word in a well-crafted sentence that shows you know the meaning of the word. For example…

  1. My teacher is astute.

This doesn’t show that you know the meaning, but this one does…

  1. My astute teacher caught me sneaking candy during a spelling test.

Now that sentence is better, don’t you think? Good…  Sometimes even two sentences together would be helpful. For example…

  1. I was asked to redo my homework because it was not meticulous. I had rushed through it, and it looked sloppy.

2. Choose one of the following three activities to complete on your paper:

  1. Pick ONE word and write a short paragraph about how it does or does not fit into “The Gilman Five.” Be specific. Have any good examples or experience?
  1. Write a short, creative story/event using all five words.
  1. Create a small crossword puzzle for the words, complete with clues for each of the five words.
  1. Create your own “Word Association” complete with possible answers and the correct ones. Be thoughtful about it!
