WMISACA 2017‐18 Scholarship Applicant Requirements:
All applicants of the ISACA—Western Michigan Chapter scholarship must fulfill the following requirements:
• A full time college student (enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours).
• Have an overall GPA of 2.5 or above (out of 4.0 scale) in prior college work.
• Have declared a major in any discipline (additional consideration given to those with aspirations to pursue a career in IT, Audit, and IT Security related fields).
• Be (or become) a Member of ISACA and the West Michigan Chapter. All applicants will receive a free student membership; contact the Membership Director () for details.
Scholarship Deadlines:
Scholarship applications may be submitted either electronically via email or by mail. Please include the following in your response:
• Completed application (see below)
• Evidence of college enrollment and GPA
• Resume and/or Cover letter summarizing academic, professional, and extra-curricular achievements
• Essay (see question below)
• Winners will be announced and awards will be presented at the June ISACA Annual General Meeting

Scholarship Application‐ Achievements and Essay
In order for the scholarship review committee to get a better understanding of you as a candidate, please respond with a summary of academic, professional and extracurricular achievements (can be in the form of a resume and/or cover letter) along with an essay (3‐pages or less) on the following topic:
In the rapidly evolving age of digitalization, technology is driving business strategies in a big way. Some examples of this include: cloud based IT services, Internet of Things platforms, Big Data, mobility and customer experience. Compare and contrast the importance of emerging technologies against the landscape of security threats that are in opposition to this force. State your position on this matter and what approach an organization should take in dealing with these opposing forces?
