Actor, Model, Singer, Musician, Dancer (ETC) Marketing
As Self Employed Professionals We all Have to Market ourselves in order to Work. EVEN Those of us that Simply sits and Waits for someone to CALL them (so they do not work often) has to at least Market themselves somehow to get even 1 Call.
Our Basic Marketing Tool is the Headshot -- It is our Calling Card.
It MUST be a good Quality (not Expensive) Photo of your Face Exactly as you look Today And EVERYDAY -- And If you Want to work as an Actor Full Time -- You will use about 1000 Every 12-18 months.
If You Are sending it Directly to a Production Company, Filmmaker, or Most Casting Directors YOUR contact Information & Resume go on the Back. If it is going to your Agent THEIR Name & Contact Information Go on the back.
BE CAREFUL WHAT CONTACT INFO IS ON THEM—HEADSHOTS ARE SENT EVERYWHERE -- THAT'S why you give them more than 1 copy -- They don't Decorate with them -- THEY FORWARD THEM.
Many of us Also Have Demo Reels, Voice Reels Etc as Well.
The Latest thing is Websites. Like Everything Before There is Good, Bad & Downright Ugly.
Again I Want you All to Look at My Site w It Costs me $70 Per year TOTAL -- $70 -- YOU DO NOT NEED TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON YOUR WEBSITE --PERIOD
(You should all look at the 60 or so NEW Photo's in the Jobs / Audition Photo Album -- A Lot of you are in some of the Photo's -- Or People you Know --- Sets you have been on -- If you Have a Photo of Me or us together on a set and you do not see it here -- send me a copy)
There Are Now A lot of Free & Paid Sites out there (I Joined a Lot of Them) But I Haven't Found ANY to be of Real Use to me EXCEPT since I'm Computer Illiterate -- I Have some FREE sites set up with Different Resumes on them. I Do some Promotional Modeling (This work is NEVER on your Acting Resume) So I Have a Free site with My Headshot & Promotional Resume on it so I Can forward it to Those Posting Promotional Jobs.

affiliated with an Agent or Casting Director)
I Have another With my Live Training work (Standardized Patients at Teaching Hospitals, PoliceAcademy's, Law Firms ETC) Yet Another with my Crew Resume, Still Another with my Casting Resume.
All Ready so I can E-mail That Specific Resume to an Employer At a Moments Notice --- Without Having to Learn how to use a Computer.
If you Have A site that you Are getting a lot of PAID Work from -- I Would Love to Know about it -- Send the Info to me.
The Newest Trend is For REPUTABLE Agents & Casting Directors to use Private Office Sites (And Charge the Actor For Them) -- OF COURSE THE SCAM ARTISTS ARE DOING THIS AS WELL.
As an Actor WE CAN"T PAY EVERYONE BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING DIGITAL – SO LIKE ANYTHING ELSE CHOOSE HOW YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY WISELY
In Our Area This Costs Actors From A Low of the $25 per year that Nancy -- ACT Agency Charges (I Get 4-6 Jobs a year From It)
To Diane Heery's Extra Book at $30 Per year ( 4 Job offers last 6 Months)
To Carlyn Davis's Extra Casting at $39 Per Year ( I Got 2 Jobs & 3 Auditions in it's First Year)
To Mike Lemon Casting (PhiladelphiaPa), --- Liz Marks Uptown Talent (RichmondVa) And Greer Lange (PhiladelphiaPA)
All 3 using Agency Pro (By the Way a good thing about Agency Pro is if you are on the site from any one of the 3 -- The other 2 are discounted to $25 per year each)
And Betsy Royall's -- Betsy Casting (Still In Testing) At $125 per year .
So Again Being SMART if Someone wants MORE than $125 (Betsy Royall's Price) YOU HAVE TO ASK ---- HOW MANY MORE ACTORS ARE HIRED FROM THIS SITE THAN THE THOUSANDS OF ACTORS PER YEAR THAT CARLYN DAVIS, BETSY ROYALL, MIKE LEMON & LIZ MARKS HIRE ---- THEN RUN.
