The Fifth Annual Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Symposium

Call for Abstracts

The fifth annual Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Symposium will be held on Friday 25th November 2016 at Lily’s Function Centre, Seven Hills.

Abstract submissions are invited for oral or poster presentationwhich showcase the research happening across the Sydney West Cancer Network and the Sydney West Translational Cancer Research Centre. A number of poster submissions will be selected to feature in a rapid fire poster presentation session which will involve short, 3-5 minute, oral presentations based on poster submissions. Please indicate in your submission if you are willing to present your research in a “rapid fire” oral presentation session.

Basic and Translational Research

Clinical Research

Education

Epidemiology

Health Services

Palliative and Supportive Care

Clinical Trials

Service Provision

Abstract submissions are encouraged from all disciplines involved in cancer research and service provision. This includes, but is not limited to, medical registrars and fellows, nurses and allied health professionals, radiation therapists and medical physicists, and basic, clinical and translational researchers. Applicants are encouraged to submit new research or abstracts that have been presented at other meetings and conferences within the last 12 months.

Abstract Review

Abstracts will be reviewed by a selection panel for scientific quality and clarity. The majority of submitted abstracts will be allocated poster presentations as there will be a limited number of slots available for oral or rapid fireoral presentations. Rapid fire presentations will also be required to have a poster to display.

A People’s Choice Poster Prize will be awarded for the best poster presentation on the day.

Abstract submissions close on Friday 16th September 2016.

Abstracts should be submitted as a Word document using the Abstract Submission Form (over page). Following the conference we ask poster presenters to provide a pdf version of their poster for inclusion in the member’s area of the SW-TCRC web site.
