Co-President’s Report Julia Hayden/Sonja Thomson: Julia Hayden presiding
Meeting minutes were not accepted from December due to lack of quorum.
Sue Hansen has resigned as Secretary due to professional obligations. Shannon Lansley has shown interest in a nomination for this position. Julia stated that the NYS PTA does not recognize Co-President as a position, that the role of President for the OMS PTA is vacant at the end of the school year, and that Brenda Mills will serve 2010-2012 as Treasurer. Sonja reminded those in attendance that all PTA Officers positions and Program Chairs are one year terms per our unit’s By-laws and that a nominating committee will be formed to find the one best nominee for President, VP, Secretary and Treasurer for next year. Of course, any one can run from the floor as well. The three- member special committee should consist of one board member and two PTA (non-board) members. People interested in sitting on this committee should let the current PTA officers know. This committee will be voted into place in February.
