YOUTH GARDEN CLUB NEWSLETTER
MERRY CHRISTMAS
I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy
New Year. I would like to also thank you for giving of your time and effort
In working with the Youth Garden Clubs. We now have 41 YGC’s with
a total of 1,432 members…..Great Job!
It will soon be time for the Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl Poster Contest. Please read the
Poster rules carefully. A few tips: pay close attention to #8, #11, #14, #16, and #18.
Smokey and Woodsy are official icons protected by law…..the colors of their
Clothing need to be accurate.
You will be sending me only the winning poster from each grade level and the Local
Chairman Report Form must accompany your poster/s. I have attached a copy of this
form along with this newsletter. All Posters must be in my hands no later than
January 22. Please remember, you cannot wait until January 19 or 20 to mail these.
I will be happy to receive them any time after Christmas. I have also attached a copy
of a Certificate of Participation that you can print and give a copy to all of your
children who participated in the contest.
A little “tidbit” of information: Last year our SAR for the fifth year won at the
NGC convention in Richmond, VA. for the most posters sent in.
