Principal’s Summary:

We are extremely proud of the tenacity our students demonstrated throughout the AIMS and SAT10 testing. We anxiously await the results and hope they arrive before the students are released at the end of the month. Even though state testing is completed, we remain focused and still have much to teach and learn. We will spend the next five weeks implementing our TAP field testing results on problem solving strategies. Although our focus is on mathematics, the strategies we are implementing can be utilized across the curriuculum and have been adapted for all grade levels. We are sadden by the number of staff members that will be leaving our FUSD family, but we are grateful for the time dedicated and the friendships made. We certainly understand the importance of moving back to families and 'roots' but can't embrace the idea of shoveling several feet of snow, black ice and hailstorms! A warm welcome goes to the new members of our phenomenal staff: Tuesday Jimenez, Adam Winters, Bethaney Gagni and Bianca Passmore and we welcome back Swapna Katasani. We are seeking out candidates to fill open positions in 7th grade social studies, speech and library. Finally, we are proud to be a part of the O'Connor House iCivics project. It was an honor to spend day with Justice Sandra Day O'Connor as she is an inspiration and her dedication to the youth of today is unsurpassed.
