Job Purpose
Under the overall direction of the Airfield Technical Manager to participate in the provision of a safe, cost effective and efficient Airfield Operations service. This role reports directly to the Airfield Engineeing Supervisor. There is a requirement to interface with Air Traffic Control, Airlines, Handling Agents, Security, Tenants and concessionaires operating in airside and landside external locations and the Airport’s Contract organisations.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Managing the Facility
Maximising the use of existing facilities whilst not compromising customer service
To carry out maintenance, alteration, adaptation or installation work to the Aero Nautical Lighting systems and associated control equipment on the airfield.
To maintain the Operational manoeuvring areas Runways & Taxiways for the safe operation of aircraft including minor civil repair work.
To use Engineering Drawings and Documents in Maintenance Activities.
To carry out conditional monitoring on mechanical plant and electronic/ electrical equipment.
To carry out planned maintenance, inspections, testing and repairs on electrical equipment and mechanical plant on the Airport site.
To participate with internal communications systems and to use new technology and systems as appropriate.
To complete appropriate documentation as required, i.e. inspection reports / log books, stores requisitions, cost coding, vehicle daily inspection reports, job reports.
To collect materials from stores / suppliers / assist with site deliveries and ensure running stocks of materials are maintained and available.
To provide escort and or RT cover for contractors working airside and in remote off site locations where required.

To undertake other such duties commensurate with the grading of the post which may be determined from time to time.
The Airport Company reserves the right to vary the duties and responsibilities of staffunder conditions prescribed in local agreements. Thus, it must be appreciated that the above duties may be altered as the future changing needs of the service may require.
