Sub: Participation of O/o DC (MSME) in Intermoda International Apparel & Textile Fair, Guadalajara, Mexico (Latin America) 19 - 22 January, 2011 being organised by India Trade Promotion organisation (ITPO), New Delhi.

The Office of DC (MSME) is participating in the said fair being organised by India Trade Promotion organisation (ITPO), New Delhi for covering wide range of products like Apparel, Textiles, Leather Garments, Men’s, Women’s & Children’s Garments, Fashion Accessories and Small Leather Goods.

2. The principle objectives of Intermoda International Apparel & Textile Fair, Guadalajara, Mexico (Latin America) Fair is to encourage and promote Indian export, joint ventures, technology transfer, marketing arrangements to business partners in Mexico and build a strong image of Indian Products.

3.  The objectives of O/o, DC (MSME)’s participation in this fair are to strengthen bilateral trade and promote Indian products & technologies and also identifying areas of exports in Mexico (Latin America).

4.  ITPO, New Delhi has informed that the tentative space rent per booth (3.6m x 3.6m) for the above fair is 1,00,000 plus service tax @ 10.30%, without shipment facility. Each participating unit is required to book one build up booth of size 3.6m x 3.6m as mentioned above. It may also be made clear to the participating units that space would be provided on the basis of first cum first serve, lay-out plan, location & availability of space etc., at Fair/ Exhibition site and the decision of the MSME Officer deputed to the Fair/ Exhibition shall be last and final and binding on participants. However, if any unit is provided less/more space then what they have booked, they shall be refunded/ charged proportionate amount as space hiring charges. Further it is to be mentioned that once the space rent has been paid by the unit according to the above guidelines and Office of DC (MSME) has conveyed the request for space booking for the unit to the ITPO, the refund of the space rent can not be possible to the individual unit even if they do not participate.

5.  The willing participatory unit required to submit the requisite DD along with copy of DIC registration certificate as a permanent manufacturing unit, proof of women, SC/ST entrepreneur, copy of the passport of the representative of the unit and application with request of actual amount of space required to be booked for the unit.

6.  A Copy of the proforma for passport particulars and application form to be submitted to ITPO for participation in fair and exhibition abroad are enclosed for representatives who are likely to visit the fair. The filled up proforma may be forwarded to this office as early as possible along with copy of their valid passport.

7.  Participating units are advised to send the passport particulars of their two representatives along with the copy of their valid passport for recommendation of Visa etc. to ensure at least one representative may visit the fair due to unforeseen circumstances. It also please be noted that once name of person forwarded by the respective unit as a representative of their unit in the respective fair, it will not be possible to change the name in the later stage.

8.  The selected units will be reimbursed of the airfare as per the guidelines subject to maximum reimbursement ceiling of Rs. 1.25 lakh (including space rent and airfare) after participation in Fair/ Exhibition on the basis of submission of claim by their representative whose name has been approved by this office.

9.  The selected units must carry a catalogue of the product manufacturing by them and preferably it should prepare in the language of host country and English.

General Information to participants:

The Objectives of the Market Development Assistance Scheme (MDA) are :

(i) To encourage Small & Micro exporters in their efforts at tapping and

developing overseas markets.

(ii) To increase participation of representatives of small/ micro manufacturing

enterprises under MSME India stall at International Trade Fairs/

Exhibitions.

(iii) To enhance export from the small/ micro manufacturing enterprises

General Information: Terms and conditions for participation

1.  Only Registered manufacturing MSEs with valid E M Part II are eligible

2.  Government of India will reimburse 75% of air fare by economy return class & 50% on space rent to general category MSEs .Total subsidy amount limited to Rs. 1.25 lakhs

3.  The selection of small/ micro manufacturing units would be done by MSME-DIs as per display product profile, theme of the fair and space availability

4.  Reimbursement for SC /ST / Women, and North Eastern entrepreneurs is 100% on air fare and space rent. Total subsidy amount limited to Rs. 1.25 lakhs

5.  The unit shall forfeit the amount paid in case of non-participation

6.  Subsidy towards air fare and space rent for SC /ST / Women, and North Eastern entrepreneurs is 100%. However, a security deposit of 50% of the space rent is to be given with the application. This is refundable after participation in the fair. If the unit does not participate, the unit shall forfeit the amount. Air Fair subsidy is available for only person per unit.

7.  Total subsidy on air fare & space in all categories rent will be restricted to Rs. 1.25 lakhs per unit

8.  Any unit can avail of this facility only once a year.

9.  Only one person of the participating unit would be eligible for the subsidy on airfare.

Assistance shall be available for travel by one permanent employee/

Director/ partner/ proprietor of the MSE unit in economy class.

10.  Space allocation will be made by O/o DC (MSME) at its discretion and the

decision will be final and binding.

11.  The offer is available on first–come first–served basis till space is available

12.  Re-imbursement of air fare is done after participation in the Fair and on submission of claim.

13.  Participating units are advised to get information of overseas buyers / associations and prominent business visitors with the help of internet etc, and take necessary action to visit their stalls, so that maximum trade enquiries could be generated. They must display attractive product catalogues / price lists in English and the language of the host country

14.  The representatives of the participating units are required to carry and manage the samples (to and fro including custom clearance etc.) for display under MSME India stall at the International Trade Fairs/ Exhibitions.

15.  Arrangements for Visa, Accommodation etc are to be made by the participants themselves.
