CG Partnership
CG Partnership is involved in running a range of innovative rural development, training and community-based projects. Most projects have objectives involving widening participation in education and training and the promotion of social inclusion. CG Partnership runs training projects across Lincolnshire and beyond, and has its own Community Learning Centres in Market Rasen, Mablethorpe (in partnership with Grimsby Institute) and Gainsborough. CGP is a small organisation with approximately 30 staff which is in the process of converting to a Community Interest Company (CIC). We are fully committed to the principles and benefits of social enterprise. The Head Office is in Market Rasen. CG Partnership was inspected by Ofsted in January 2008 and gained an overall Grade 2 (“good”) as well as Grade 2s for all programmes and leadership/management, with a Grade 1 (“outstanding”) for equality of opportunity.
Purpose of the post
The purpose of the post is to tutor on a sessional basis in basic, key and functional skills and to teach on a range of courses for adults including community courses and third sector apprenticeship provision.

This new post has arisen through an increase in our capacity to deliver basic skills courses and functional skills
Job description
- To keep updated about changes in policy and practice around Skills for Life (e.g. the current development of Functional Skills) and disseminating this to relevant staff;
- To support the Deputy Directors in meeting targets
- To plan, deliver and evaluate Literacy and Numeracysessions on a range of CGP programmes, as required:
- Producing schemes of work and lesson plans
- Identifying and developing resources
- Teaching literacy and numeracy courses
- Supporting learners and recording progress
- Evaluating courses;
- To help deliver Key Skills on the Third Sector Apprenticeship programme;
- To organise (and where necessary, source) Basic Skills resources so that they are readily available and used by staff;
- To contribute to ensuring that Basic Skills are offered through a range of delivery modes to meet the needs of learners (e.g. group-based, blended learning, Moodle) and that tests are available in paper-based and on-line versions;
- To ensure that the recording of Basic Skills testing is undertaken accurately and monitor achievement across subjects, levels and programmes;
- To referlearners with dyslexia;
- To complete registers and learner records fully and according to requirements;
- To provide monthly reports to Quality Improvement meetings on Basic Skills achievements;
- To evaluate and develop own practice;
- To be willing to undertake training and development activities that would support the development of the role;

Location
The post-holder will be based in either the Market Rasen or Gainsborough office but will work across East and West Lindsey in the delivery of these projects. Travel to our three centres in Gainsborough, Market Rasen and Mablethorpe as well as to employers’ premises will be an essential part of the role.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/AWARENESS
Proven, high quality skills in teaching
/ ESignificant experience in the delivery of Basic Skills
/ EAwareness of needs of learners of all ages who have underachieved in the education system, especially in basic skills
/ ECompetent ICT skills, or willingness to learn
/ EEmpathy with adults who have low levels of confidence relating to learning and personal achievement
/ ECompetent to teach English and Maths up to Level 2
/ EExperience of team working in the delivery of provision
/ DEDUCATION/TRAINING
Degree level study or equivalent / DTeacher trained, or willing to gain / E
Specialist Skills for Life qualification, or willingness to gain / E
Willing to participate in training for self where appropriate / E
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Ability to motivate and build confidence in learners of all ages / EAbility to support learners towards high levels of achievement / D

Conditions of service
- Sessional
- Must register with the IfL and commit to at least 30 hours Continuing Professional Development (CPD) per year
- Must agree to a CRB check
- Probationary period: 4 months
- Travel will be required to other sites, to employers and to meetings so car-owner/driver is necessary. A mileage allowance will be paid.
- £20 per hour
