PostCurriculum Resource Support

Responsible to Head of PE/Director of Sport
Main Duties of the Post
Under the instruction/guidance of Director of Sport/Head of PE: provide general support in a specific curricula/resource area including preparation and maintenance of resources and support to staff and students
Support for Students:
Support students in accessing learning activities under the guidance of the teacher
- In class support during all types of lessons
Support for Teachers:
Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and productive working environment
Timely and accurate preparation and use of specialist equipment/ resources/materials as required by staff/curriculum/lesson plans etc
- Maintain records, as requested e.g. Health and Safety, inventory etc.
- Ensure the health and safety and good behaviour of students at all times
- Administer routine tests
- Provide clerical/administrative support
- Monitor registers as required
Support for the Curriculum:
- Monitor and manage stock and supplies, cataloguing, as required
Maintenance of specialist equipment: check for quality/safety, undertake repairs/modifications within own capabilities and report other damages/needs
Demonstrate and assist others in safe and effective use of specialist equipment/materials
- Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes
- First aid as required
- Manage kit provision within the Department including laundry and repairs
- Support cover/supply staff within the Department
- Provide cover for PE staff to support teaching and learning and student opportunities
- Ensure staff planning/student work is filed and archived
- Manage department ICT provision and be a competent user of ICT including managing and maintaining department iPads
- Ensure all working PE areas are maintained and safe through regularhealth and safety checks
- Ensure an audit of all equipment and resources is updated each term
- Ensure Active Lunch, Extra Curricular registers and House Points are completed by staff within the department.
- Run Extra-Curricular teams, organise extra curricular sessions and support with fixtures
- Be prepared and able to work flexible hours
Support for the College:
- Be aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure all students have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the College
- Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings, as required
- Participate in training and other learning activities and Quality Assurance, as required
- Transport students to and from fixtures to assist with the high demand of sporting teams
- Assist with the supervision of students out of lesson times e g clubs, extra-curricular activities & fixtures
- Attend promotional events e.g. Sports Award Evening
- To safeguard and promote the welfare of young people
General
To undertake any other duties appropriate to grade of the post as directed by line manager or Headteacher.
