POST TITLE:Progression Support Worker
REPORTING TO:Progression Manager
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST:
To assist the work of the Progression Manager. This will includedevising, co-ordinating and delivering activities at Leeds College of Art and local schools, which promote progression to, and widen participation in, further and higher art & design education, and assist in regular communications with other Colleges and Schools. This role may include some after School, Saturday morning and vacation classes.
MAIN DUTIES:
- To devise, deliver, and assist the co-ordination of progression and Widening Participation activities across the College and with local schools.
- To help develop learning materials as necessary and design and deliver presentations suitable for the audience and topic addressed.
- To assist in the development of curriculum initiatives, under the direction of the Progression Manager, to further the College’s primary to post 16strategies in the light of local and national developments.
- To share in the administration of the activities, assisting the Progression Manager in the preparation of reports relating to Widening Participation activities; attending meetings as required and fulfilling duties assigned by the Progression Manager including planning projects in consultation with staff across the Institution in order to ensure effective utilization of resources; helpingto monitor the delivery of the activities, using appropriate documentation; and keeping annual activity records up to date in accordance with the College’s standards.
- To support the profile of the programmeliaising with feeder schools and other institutions and attending school open days and outreachevents as directed by the Progression Manager; and attending Careers and Marketing Events, assisting the Marketing Function to help raise awareness of the College’s opportunities and courses.
- To help develop and teach a range of appropriate programmes to support FE students at the College progressing to HE including liaising with Programme Leaders to provide appropriate HE link activities for College students.
- To contribute where appropriate to WP student induction following College procedures and guidelines.
- To monitor and record students’ progression within and outside of the College where appropriate and keeping participating courses and schools informed of any evaluative feedback
- To attend partnershipsmeetings and maintain partnership relationships with external organisationsas appropriate To help implement the College procedures for WP programmereview, monitor progress against action plans and present an annual summative report.
- To contribute to the College’s strategic planning process as required.
- To adhere to the College’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
