Box Puppets /
If you have opened the box through a top flap, tape it shut again. Then cut around the middle on three sides. Fold the back of the box in half to make a hinge that looks like a mouth. Joeys put fingers in the top part of the box and thumb in the bottom to make the mouth work. Add hair and facial features to give your puppet character.
Bubble Painting / Poster paint in cups or egg cups after adding washing up liquid to paint. Blow the paint until the bubbles reach the top of the cup and then lay a sheet of paper across the top for a ‘bubble print’.
Blow Painting / Large sheet of paper and a straw, Drip a small drop of runny poster paint into the centre of the paper. Blow this out towards the edges, creating a spidery pattern or use food colouring.

Ball Passing
Balloon Passing
Blue Peg relay / Line the Joeys up relay formation. The Joey at the front of the team has a box of blue pegs in front of them. The first Joey picks up a peg and pins it onto the clothes of the second Joey. The second Joey unpins it and pins it onto the third Joey. Continue down the line. The process is repeated. The aim is to get as many pegs as possible down the line in a limited time frame. The Joey at the end should have quite a few pegs on by the end.
This can also be played as a team relay game.
Blow Power / Play as per dog and bone. Place a ping pong ball in the centre of the hall. When number is called the Joeys with that number attempt to blow the ball to their goal area.
B-P Challenge / The Joey Scouts sit in a circle, one person holding the ball. The child passes the ball to the left or right. The child then has to run around the outside of the circle and back to the vacant place before the ball can be passed round the circle. The ball starts again from where it stops when the runner sits down. If the ball gets to the empty space first. The Joey Scout whom the ball was first passed starts the ball again.
Bindi in the Pouch / Joey Scouts hop around the hall. On a signal, all lie down with eyes closed. One Joey is covered up with the blanket and, on signal, the other Joey Scouts sit up and try to guess who is missing.
Bead Pass / The Joey Scouts sit in a circle on the floor with a piece of string sufficiently long to go around the circle. One Joey Scout is chosen to be in the middle and close eyes. A large bead is threaded onto the string and then passed from hand to hand, while being kept hidden from view. As it is being passed, other players pretend to pass it on too. The one in the middle has to guess who has the bead. If guessed correctly, he or she then changes places with the one who had the bead.
Balloon Pop / Messages are written and placed inside balloons which are then inflated. The Joey Scouts are in a circle and a balloon is passed around. On the “stop” signal, the one with the balloon sits or jumps on it to pop it, and then follows the instructions given on the message.
Ball Protect / You will need a soft ball and two paper sticks. Joey Scouts in a circle with two in the middle with the sticks and ball. The aim is for the circle to stop the two from hitting the ball outside the circle.
