2 PREVIOUS MINUTES

3 POLICE REPORT

During the month of January there were 7 reported crimes in Beat Area MW04 (Roslin and Bilston). They are broken down as follows:-

Crimes of note:

Between 19/1 and 20/1, persons unknown have stolen flowers from a grave at Rosslyn Chapel.

Overnight 21-22/1, a window was smashed at Bovril Johnstone in Main Street, Roslin.

On 22/1 a sum of cash was stolen from the Original Hotel in Roslin. A possible suspect has been identified and enquiries are ongoing.

On 28/1 a 20 year old male caused a disturbance at Bilston Cottages which resulted in property being damaged there. The male has been reported to the P. Fiscal.

Overnight on 28-29/1 a motor vehicle was damaged in Castlelaw Crescent, Bilston, whereby there was denting to various body panels.

Overnight 28-29/1 a pedal cycle was stolen from an insecure shed in Manse Road, Roslin.

Overnight 31/1 – 1/2 a motor cycle was stolen from Manse Road, Roslin. This is thought to be linked to similar crimes the same night in the Loanhead area, Enquiries are ongoing.

5 ENVIRONMENT REPORT

Due to adverse weather conditions it has been reported that many roads within the Roslin and Bilston area have suffered severe damage. It has been noted that repairs are to be carried out to main roads in the first instance.

7 CORRESPONDANCE

A letter, from Sally Henman of the 2nd Rosslyn Brownie Pack, has been received informing the RBCC that the girls have been invited to take part in the Centenary Celebrations at a camp in Dalguise, Perthshire in April of this year. In order for the girls to attend this important event she has asked if a donation towards the hire of the coach can be made. It was proposed by the committee to pay half the cost of the coach hire.

10 ANY OTHER BUSINESS

The RBCC is to contact the VW garage in Bilston to raise concerns about the loading and unloading of vehicles while parked on the main road. This problem was highlighted once again during the severe weather conditions when traffic, who were already facing driving difficulties, had to manoeuvre round large transporters.
