Alden-Hebron District 19 P.T.O. Agenda

I. Attendance – Julie Cunningham, Maggie Bradley, Eleanor Sutherland, Kate Johnson, Karen Fallon, Colleen Geils, and Lisa Mason.

II. Review and Approve minutes from January – Eleanor approves, Maggie 2nds

III. Treasurer’s report – Lisa approves, Kate 2nds

IV. Upcoming Events/ suggestions

A.  The spirit wear store will be open from February 13th through the 24th. It will take about 2 weeks for the order to come in. The spirit wear contest winners will receive a t-shirt with their design on it. It will cost $8 per shirt, $16 total. Voted and approved.

B.  The spring fundraiser is with Cherrydale and will run from January 31 to February 21. Pick up will be on March 16th from 3:30-4:30pm in the elementary gym.

C.  Pastries for parents will occur on April 20th from 7 to 7:30 am. Maggie will contact Hazel’s to get an estimate on prices for 22 dozen donuts. Kate will donate the coffee. We will need to purchase Styrofoam cups for the event, $20. Voted and approved.

D. Art Attack-painting night will occur on February 9th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. So far 28 students have signed up. An all call will go out tomorrow to remind parents to sign up. We will do the event in the gym. Julie will fill out a building usage form. We will need to use vinyl table clothes, we can get those from the left overs in the teachers’ lounge.

E. We will provide snacks at the Art-Attack night to eat while the pictures are drying. $50 approval covers brownies, cookies, and lemonade. Voted and approved.

F. The STEAM Museum will come February 21st. They have updated the activities. We will try to make the blocks longer so students have more time at the activities. It costs $1,200. Next year, we need to look into “traveling museums” earlier in the year because they book up fast. Voted and approved

F. Teacher appreciation week will be from May 1st to May 5th. Kate will set up a luncheon for the teachers on May 3rd.

V. Purchase Orders/Requests

A. Gate Signs for Middle School PBIS program – Kim Qualls: It costs $250. Voted and approved.
