Manager, Payroll Tax – Statutory Research

Position Overview:
The Manager of Payroll Tax – Statutory Research contributes a significant impact to ADP’s payroll reporting and compliance requirements. The Manager will lead a team of 6 payroll tax research analysts at different levels, who research payroll tax report requirements and provide statutory requirements for ADP systems.
Responsibilities:
• Assigns, prioritizes, controls, audits and manages the staff's daily activities to continually research, identify, define, interpret for business applicability and communicate country-specific legislative requirements.
• Organizes and prioritizes deliverables based on needs of ADP businesses.
• Keeps up to date with key statutory issues, legislation and industry trends and shares with department and organization.
• Participates in department wide planning and provides input into establishing the department’s policies and procedures in line with relevant internal and external audit requirements. Makes recommendations to achieve efficiency focused enhancements
• Builds and maintains key relationships with ADP business representatives and understands their needs in order to provide focused legislative guidance.
• Communicates clearly defined team and individual goals/objectives to associates through meetings and performance planning. Provides regular performance feedback versus objectives and conducts annual performance reviews on direct reports. Responsible for department hiring and terminations as required. Motivates staff, recognizes and rewards good performance. May be responsible for talent decisions such as promotions, hiring and terminations.
• Helps develop and communicate a strategic plan to meet current/future business requirements based on industry and legislative trends and feedback from the business. May be escalation point for related legislative concerns. May consult with government agencies or other appropriate parties to establish consensus relating to interpretation of legislation for business applicability, regulations, rules or specifications.
• Participates in year-end process planning, analysis and design sessions, product development and provides support for other organizational issues where statutory impact is a factor and/or budget discussions.
Qualifications:
• Strong Payroll background with subject matter expertise around payroll tax compliance
• Experience managing a team of payroll professionals / analysts, providing guidance and leadership
• Bachelor degree preferred, Business, Tax, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPP desired
