Principal’s Report

On Tuesday 20th May, Ardeer South Primary School will be holding our annual open morning from 8.45am until 10.45am. We usually have an excellent response from parents in attending this event and hopefully this year will be no different. The morning provides a wonderful opportunity for parents to see their child in a classroom learning environment as well as learn more about how our school operates. The morning will begin at 8.45am where parents will need to sign in at the office and then make their way to the staffroom. After that there will be an information session on how we are using interactive whiteboards in our senior grades and then parents can visit their child’s classroom. The morning will finish off with morning tea in the staffroom. There will be a note going home shortly.

Uniform

The wearing of school uniform is compulsory. Parents can greatly assist us by ensuring students wear their uniform everyday. Where there is an exceptional circumstance for not wearing the uniform, we require a note to be sent to school.

Habits of Mind

At Ardeer South Primary School we incorporate Habits of Mind into how we operate as a school. What is a Habit of Mind? It is a means of behaving intelligently when confronted with problems, the answers to which are not immediately known. There are sixteen habits of what human beings do when they behave intelligently and during the course of this year we will introduce a different habit in each newsletter. These habits can be utilised not just at school but also at home. Our first habit in this newsletter is ‘Thinking Flexibility’
