In the April 4th meeting of the Women of Lourdes, we discussed details regarding coffee and donuts as well as receptions. Mary Lou Juettner reported that concerning the financial status of coffee and donuts we are fairly stable throughout the year maintaining a balance between $3,000 and $4,000. Mary Lou stated that our current balance is $3,447.00.

Marcia Doll read a thank you note from the Don Belcher family thanking the Women of Lourdes for the meal that was provided.

Marcia Doll stated that she will be the facilitator for receptions going forward so as not to put too much on the plate of those who have signed up for coffee and donuts during the months where we will also have receptions.

We also took some time to continue the discussion regarding the Time and Talent sheets. We are still unsure of when those sheets will be sent out. Paulette Fick stated that her daughter’s parish in Lincoln, NE has a different interest group present each Sunday with some information and also has a table set up with information after mass for interested parishioners. She asked for further thought regarding how we can get more information out there regarding our interest groups. Marcia mentioned that we had done a fair in the past as well.

New Business:

Caroline Erhardt elected to Secretary. Mary Lou Juettner is the new treasurer. We are still looking for a Vice President and President. The Women of Lourdes are encouraged to ask around for volunteers. Even a good vice president who can eventually transition to the President position would help.

Marcia Doll stated that if no one is found to take the President position, a committee may need to be put together in July to get a group of women together to serve.

Upcoming Receptions:

April 28th: Reception for Confirmation. 4:00pm. 32 dozen cookies are needed. To sign up; contact Mary Lou Juettner.

May 5th: Reception for First Communion. 2:00pm 36 dozen cookies are needed.

The next meeting for the Women of Lourdes is scheduled to be on July 11th at 6:00pm with no presentation following. The following meeting will be some time in October and the officers will most likely meet before this meeting.

Alice Neville also provided information regarding the newly formed First Friday Group. This group meets after the first Friday 8am mass to socialize and have coffee. As the weather gets warmer they plan to take walks around the track as well. Contact Alice Neville for more information.
