III.  Discussion of Cheer Proposal

It was decided at the Conference Spring Meeting that judging would not

take place through the Northern and Southern Division. Instead the

competition will be judged and divided into small, medium, and large

divisions:

Medium: 11-16 members

Large: 17-25 members

There will be a 7th grade champion and 8th grade champion in each

division as well as a 7th grade overall grand champion and 8th grade overall

champion.

The following teams will compete in the following divisions:

Small: 7th grade Estill County

Medium: 7th grade Bourbon County

IV.  Discussed basic procedures for that day

A.  Parking – please park on the left side of the parking lot next to the gym and enter in the doors in between the library and gym

B.  Registration will take place in the community room near library. This will also be the host room.

C.  Each school will have its own classroom. The RSMS Green Communities (upstairs and downstairs) will be used. Georgetown, Royal Spring, Scott County will be in the downstairs red community. McNabb and East Jessamine are willing to take a smaller classroom while Bourbon County will need a large classroom.

D.  Because of the small size of Royal Spring’s gymnasium, it will most likely be impossible for spectators and participants to be in the gym to watch. Royal Spring will look into taping a live broadcast so that teams may watch the competition in other rooms.

E.  It was unanimously decided that nine (9) mats will be used in the gym, nine (9) mats will be used for warm up and two (2) mats will be used for tumbling. We will use Scott County High, Scott County Middle and Bourbon County Middle’s mats the day of competition.

F.  It was unanimously decided that school bringing a 7th grade and 8th grade team may watch their other team perform as moral support.

A rough agenda for that day:

1. Coaches meeting at 9:00 am

2. Warm-ups starting at 9:30 am

These changes must be approved by the host school. All changes for this year’s competition must be made by Tuesday, Feb. 19th, 2008.

B.  Royal Spring suggested that cheer grams be delivered to the participant’s room and not announced before the school’s performance.
