RELEASE HISTORY

FW v.1.00 / First release.
FW v.1.10 / Added fan delay parameter ().
FW v.1.15 / Modified fan management. New default value for  now 8°C (was 15°C).

1.  Enter into FACTORY mode

Into the FACTORY mode you can change the PASTA COOKER factory parameters.

Normally there is no need to change any of these parameters. The factory preset is made to give the best performance.

You only need to change the factory preset when receiving a spare part board and you want to visualize the temperature in °F (Factory preset is in °C).

See parameter list on the next page.

.

When you finished changing parameters switch off the pasta cooker.

Changing take effect when the pasta cooker is switched on.

2.  Testing (PCB supplier since W22 Y2008)

At the testing phase, when the appliance is turned for the very first time ON, parameters must be set at the standard values.

Access “FACTORY” mode (see chapter 1.) and change the parameter  from  into .

Detailed procedure:

1)  turn the pasta cooker ON, at the “lamp test” press at the same time the PROGRAM buttons 2 (P6) and 5 (P9), display will show ;

2)  press DECREASING button (P14), display will show _;

3)  press temperature button (P2) to get access this family of parameters, display will show the first parameter of the SYS family: ___

4)  press DECREASING button (P14), display will show the last parameter of the SYS family: ___;

5)  press temperature button (P2), the symbol __ will start blinking;

6)  press DECREASING button (P14) to change the value into _;

7)  press temperature button (P2) to store new value;

8)  the parameters will be reset at the standard values and the display will show again;

9)  turn the pasta cooker OFF (P1), then turn it ON (P1) again to carry the test on.

3.  Quick troubleshooting

1) Display shows the temperature in °F (CE appliance only).

- Check whether the parameters reset has been done (as described on Charter 2.) or not.

2) Display shows temperature differet than expected:

2.1)Energy regulator control has been set at 100% but water won’t boil; pressing the TEMPERATURE button the display shows 99 or 100°C (use an external sensor to check real water temperature).

- Check the bridge JP11 is in the right position Main board (Board with relays PREC10 FLASH).

2.2)Energy regulator control has been set at 100% but water won’t boil; pressing the TEMPERATURE button the display shows less than 99°C (use an external sensor to check real water temperature).

- Check the bridge JP11 is in the right position Main board (Board with relays PREC10 FLASH);

2.3)Water is fierce boiling but the temperature showed is lower than 100°C/212°F: the water level could not get the temperature sensor and sensor is feeling the tank/steam temperature. In this case restore water level.

3) Pasta cooker does not turn ON.

- Check bridges P1 and P2 on Main Board;

- Check the flat cable User Interface connection and harness;

- Check there is 24Vac tension on the wires supplying electricity to the User Interface.

4) One or two baskets lift down when turning the pasta cooker ON.

- Check the polarity at the connections MATE’N’LOK of the lifting motors.

5) Automatic water filling doesn’t stop.

- check the pressure switch safety system.

6) Pressing a button of the User Interface it does not work:

- Check the spacers of the user interface (the distance must ensure as the button is not always pressed as the button is not too far from the external layer.

- Check the user interface is clean from oil/grease/dirty and the button pression is accordingly transmitting the signal.

4.  Error Codes

CODE / DESCRIPTION / FAIL
 / HIGH TEMPERATURE
Tank temperature above 110°C. / Overheating:
- pastacooker works without water;
- tank temperature probe broken;
 / TEMPERATURE PROBE SHORT CIRCUITED / Tank temperature probe broken.

5.  Fan Management

Electrical box fan (MV1) is switched on/off according to board temperature (see parameters  and ), doesn’t matter if Pasta Cooker is on or off.

User interface fan (MV2) is switched on when the Pasta Cooker is switched on.

When the Pasta Cooker is switched off, MV2 is switched off after a delay of  minutes (see above diagram). The delay starts from the switch off transition of MV1.

It is possible visualize the board temperature by pressing at the same time keys UP and DOWN for 5 seconds (the keys below the first display). In this way first display shows probe temperature the second shows board temperature.

Below you can see Main Board jumper configuration.
