Pomegranates

No major changes this week. We are expecting our final two containers to arrive over the next week or so. Our fruit is fresh and the prices are very competitive. Ask us for opportunities!

Stone fruit

Sizing is very nice and eating quality is outstanding on Apricots out of California. We have a full run of sizes on Nectarines and Peaches. Pricing will be very aggressive as the weather continues to improve in California. The Peach crop from Georgia this year is very short. They had bad weather when the trees were in bloom, and they lost most of the crop.

Also available are Cherries. They are expensive but the quality is nice.

Citrus

Oranges

We are currently carrying oranges from Spain. We expect that the South African Navel market will not meet the demands of our business for the month of June. Pricing will be strong and fruit will be short. Overall, South Africa reports to have shipped about 1/4 of their normal volume to North America for the first four weeks of shipping.

Juice Oranges

Prices are high and will remain steady for another few weeks.

Grapefruit

We are strictly into South African fruit now. While we are currently meeting the demands of the business, this market is firm and we could see a gap in July if fruit doesn’t make color (same as last year). You should try and stay ahead on your purchasing.

Clementines

We have Gold Nuggets in now and they are outstanding! First arrivals of South African fruit is expected this weekend. We will have both large and small sizes and we will be doing some bagging as well.

Lemons

Now available out of Argentina and South Africa. More arrivals are expected next week from Argentina; the fruit is moving well and the demand is expected to remain the same. We should have the same run of sizes from 80's to 138's. The next arrivals of South African fruit is expected this weekend, pricing should remain the same and we will have a few of all sizes. Demand is still strong, the chains are short which is putting pressure on this market. We would strongly suggest to stay ahead on your purchasing and pre-book when you can to avoid being shutout.

Limes

Supplies are steady and the marketis stable. No changes expected.

Berries

Blackberries

We are seeing very good supplies out of California; pricing remains steady.

Raspberries

We have an array or pack sizes available including 6x12oz, 12x6oz and Organic Raspberries. Ask your sales rep for opportunities. All fruit is fresh from California. Also available are Golden Raspberries from Driscoll's.

Cantaloupes

California Cantaloupes are available now. Pricing looks like it will be up slightly from where it’s been but the quality is excellent.

Honeydew

We continue this week with Mexican Honeydew; no changes expected.

Vegetables

Broccoli

Bunched Broccoli has tightened up and the market is stronger this week. Local product is expected around mid-July, weather depending.

Cauliflower

Market is promotable for next week - ask your sales person for opportunities! We don't expect this to last long as it continues to be very volatile.

Celery

We expect the market out of California to slowly start to come off and prices will decline over the next week to 10 days.

Zucchini

Local Zucchini has started.

Corn

BBQ season is upon us and we are seeing good supplies. We will transition to Georgia crop this week. The quality is excellent and pricing is extremely promotable, ask your sales person!

Eggplant

Supplies will be very limited for the next few weeks as Mexico winds down and Florida has finished for the season. No changes expected until Georgia starts in mid-June.

Asparagus

Local Asparagus will continue this week, but supplies are very limited.

Beans

The market is stronger this week but supplies remain steady and consistent.

Hot House Peppers

No changes this week on all Greenhouse Peppers. The quality is very good on Red and prices are steady. Yellow and Orange varieties are promotable this week. Bushel Peppers are also available.

Field Tomatoes

The Quincy deal has started up bringing the market down a little bit this week but only slightly. No changes are expected until California starts in mid-July.

Roma Tomatoes

California Romas are available now. The market has come off and there are ad opportunities available, ask your sales person for details.

Grape/Cherry Tomatoes

Grape Tomatoes are very short this week and pricing is up as Mexico is done and Ontario Field Tomatoes are still about a month away.

Onions, Carrots, Potatoes

Cooking Onions

The local deal is coming to an end and volumes are getting smaller and smaller as the end of the season comes to an end. We will have 50lb Cooking Onions out of the US for next week.

Spanish Onions

We are getting New Crop Spanish and Red Onions out of California this week, Jumbo and Colossal.

Red Onions

We have new crop of jumbo red onions from California. The price will be steady.
