What: Put-In-Bay Road Racing Reunion

Event Description

1930-1972 Sports Cars racing on an airport track celebrating the sports car races that were held on the streets at Put-In-Bay on Ohio’s South Bass Island from 1952 to 1959 and in 1963. It is one of the very few places in North America where post-war sports cars raced through towns and countryside on public roads and where those roads exist today virtually unchanged.

Sunday – Entrants arrive, register, tech inspection

Monday – Orientation, Recollections, Practice Sessions, Rocker Cover (like Pinewood Derby) races at The Goat restaurant

Tuesday – Race qualitfying 10:00 - noon, racing 1:00 – 5:00 pm

Wednesday – Car Show 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Presently this is a do-it-yourself event, but we may organize a group caravan, etc., if several people want to travel there on the same day.

·  Nicholas has contacted the race organizer about possibly setting up a ‘Miata Corral’ at the track for the club.
