Walker Opens County Pools for Summer
Affordable Pool Passes Available & New Extended Hours 11:30am to 7pm
(Milwaukee) - County Executive Scott Walker announced the opening of county pools for the summer. In addition to making using county pools more affordable by introducing a new annual pass for the traditional outdoor pools, pool hours have been expanded to include early evening hours that will allow families to take advantage of pools after work.
“The introduction of our new pool pass will offer substantial savings to families who frequent the pools,” said Walker.
New outdoor summer season pool passes this year may be used beginning on Saturday, June 16 through the end of the season. The cost for an outdoor annual individual pass for age 12 years and over is $15. The cost for an outdoor annual individual pass for age 11 years and under is $10. With the exception of the Cool Waters Family Aquatic Park, the passes will be valid at nine outdoor county pools.
Outdoor pool hours have been extended this year and will open for the season on June 16 at 11:30am and close at 7pm Monday through Thursday. On Fridays and the weekends they will open at 11:30am and close at 6pm. The outdoor county pools daily admission rates for 12 + is $1.50 and the daily rate for 11 and under is $1. A night swim rate for outdoor pools will be $.75 for all swimmers after 5pm every day. The price at Cool Waters in Greenfield Park will be $4 after 6pm Monday through Thursday.

A photo ID pass will be required for the season pool pass and may be obtained at designated Milwaukee County Parks locations including Wilson, McCarty, Sheridan, Washington and Lincoln pools, Community Centers, and the County Parks Administrative Office at 9480 Watertown Plank Rd. in Wauwatosa.
Corporations or individuals are invited to invest in pool passes for children of low-income families. To learn about the Pool Pass Donation Program, where to obtain a Summer Season Pool Pass, or general information about the Milwaukee County Pools call the Aquatics Office at (414) 257-8098.
Swim America Program
In June, the Milwaukee County Parks and the Southwest Aquatic Team will be partnering to provide “results orientated” swim lessons for children. The Swim America Program will be held at Wilson Park, 1601 W. Howard Ave., with three sessions throughout the summer. Every youth will receive a free open swim pass for participating in Swim America. Swim America, one of the best “Learn to Swim” programs in the Midwest, provides goal driven, individualized instruction to swimmers of any ability level. Swim coaches are certified by the American Swim Coaches Association and all are former competitive swimmers. Parents are encouraged to watch their children progress through the 10 levels of advancement.
Session Dates and Times:
Lessons run Monday through Friday for 9 lessons (one makeup day will be on the 10th day in case of bad weather)

12:50 – 1:20
Session A: June 18-June 28 Section B: July 9-July19 Section C: July 23-August 2
Cost: $69 per swimmer ($40 for 3rd and 4th swimmer of same family) Milwaukee County residents only
$89 per swimmer ($50 for 3rd and 4th swimmer of same family) non-county residents
Swimmers must be at least 5 years old and able to use their own gender locker room.
