High School Premier Information Sheet
Lightning SC offers an exciting High School Premier program that is targeted towards those players that want to play in High School that requires a lower level of commitment. The purpose of this document is to give a basic overview of the time and financial expectations and commitments associated with playing for Lightning SC program in 2016/2017. All players must report 15 minutes prior to tryout for registration and for the discussion of the tryout process. Participants should be dressed in soccer attire. As a courtesy to all, returning players should not wear their travel uniform to the tryouts.
TIME COMMITMENT:
· HS Girls play in the fall/winter (late August to mid-February)
· HS Boys play in the winter/spring (November to June)
· During the fall and spring seasons, there are 2 practices each week, with an optional skills or GK sessions.
· The girls league play 10 games in the fall and the boys league plays 8 games in the spring.
TOURNAMENTS
· 2 Tournaments are included in fees
o Palatine Celtic Cup (fall season - girls)
o Rockford Puma Cup or equivalent (spring season – boys)
o 1 tournaments determined on a team by team basis
§ Local (e.g. Grove Memorial Day)
§ Travel, College Showcase (e.g. KISS) or President’s cup
WINTER
· The base winter program consists of 2 days of soccer per week. This includes one day of training (girls, Nov – Feb, and boys, Nov – March) and one day of league play or futsal.
· The winter program is included in the registration fee.
LEAGUES
· HS Boy’s teams play in the YSSL (Youngman’s Sportsman Soccer League), www.yssl.org, on Sundays.
· HS Girl’s teams play in the IWSL (Illinois Women Soccer League), www.iwsl.com, on Sundays.
FEES
· Fees are $1300 for HS Premier teams. This covers coaching, league fees, field expenses, administrative fees, training sessions, goalie clinics and participation in 2 tournaments.
· The uniform kit is $200, which covers a warm-up jacket, 2 practice shirts, two jerseys/shorts, and two pairs of socks. Optional equipment such as a backpack, warm-up pants and spirit wear are also available for purchase.
· Players provide their own cleats, shin guards, ball, and water bottle.
TEAM SELECTION/NOTIFICATION
· Players may be asked to play up (i.e. at an older age group) based upon the coaches evaluation.
· You will be notified of your tryout result via email no later than Sunday, May 29th. Players have until 12pm, Tuesday May31st to accept their position.
· If you have not accepted within 24 hours, your roster position will be forfeited and offered to another player. There will be no exception to this.
· Final registration will be Thursday, June 2nd from 5:30pm – 8:30pm at Daniel Wright Junior High Schools
