The Volunteer Corps is holding their annual Toys for Tots Drive. Please bring in a new and unwrapped toy and drop off in the collection boxes located in the 7th, 8th and 9th grade hallways. We’ll be collecting until Monday, December 19th.

Thank you for helping to make the holidays brighter for children that are less fortunate.

Reading Olympics: Hey, Reading Olympians! Don’t forget that our yearbook photo will be taken at this Monday’s meeting. Hope to see you and your beautiful smile in the IMC from 3:00 until 4:00 on the 5th.

Cheerleading – First practice of winter cheer will be on Thursday, December 8th from 3-5. You must hand in all paper work (physical, emergency and insurance forms) before practice in order to participate. Any questions see Mrs. Christman or Miss Koffel.

IMC Hey, Pennbrook, by now you know that the Pennbrook “One Book” is I Will Always Write Back by Caitlin Alifirenka and Martin Ganda. But, do you know that you can meet Caitlin Alifirenka in person? That’s right, she’ll be at Ten Thousand Villages in Souderton this Saturday, December 10th, from 12:00 until 2:00. So swing on by and meet the woman whose one letter changed two lives!

Science Club will meeton Dec. 15 from 3-5 in room 78. We will be building with spaghetti, eating, watching Myth Busters and planning for our January meeting. All are welcome, see Mrs. Gregory if you have any questions.

Music Club: Do you LOVE to listen to music? Not Justin Bieber. Not Katy Perry. Real music. Music beyond the Top 40 pop charts. Are you constantly seeking out new artists and classic legends? If you love music, join the music club. See Mr. McGowan in Room 6 if you are interested in joining the music club. No musical skills needed. Just an ear for what’s good.

Yearbook: Yearbook is 2/3 towards their goal of yearbooks sold for the year. Don’t miss your chance to order. Prices go up at the end of the month. Penn Time teachers have lists of students who have already ordered. If there are any discrepancies with the list, please see Mrs. Beard.

Students interested in working on the yearbook should see Mrs. Beard in room 56.

The Annual Candy Cane sale starts Monday, December 12. Pay just 50 cents to send a friend a surprise candy cane to be delivered on Fri. Dec. 23. You need to know your friend’s first name and last name. Penn Time lists will be provided at the sales table. The profits will go to families in need in the North Wales and Lansdale communities and towards the Freshman dance in May.

It's time for SPIRIT DAYS!!!!! All Penn Time classrooms have been assigned a color, either Red or Blue, and we will compete from December 9 until Red and Blue day at the end of the year. The Art Dept.

Attention: All Faculty, Staff, Students, Parents…….Pennbrook’s Art Display in the gallery at the James Michener Museum will be FREE to anyone on Dec 13th. (This is the last day of our show!) If you visit the Museum on the that day you will also get into all of the other exhibits for FREE. The Michener is having a Holiday Open House experience… Thank You for your Support of the Arts! Writing Center:Need help writing a paper? Need help editing a paper? Need help revising a paper you already wrote? Come see Miss Senderling in the Writing Center. The Writing Center is open at Penn Time in Room 90 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please get a purple pass from your teacher. Students do not need a pass from their subject teacher, they can get it from their Penn Time teacher.

Math Support is available all studentsevery morning at 7:40AMin theIMC-7. Please bring your books and handouts! TheMath Centeris also open duringPenn Timeinroom 89. All students are welcome. Please get a purple pass from your Penn Time teacher.

After School Pickup:

Pennbrook parents: Please be aware that we encourage those parents picking students up in the front of the building at dismissal to please move as far up to the front of the building as possible when parking and waiting for your child. This will help to alleviate the back up of traffic onto North Wales Road. Thank you for your assistance with this.

BUS INFORMATION

Sports Shuttle: There is a 3:00 pm Sports shuttle from Pennbrook to the High School.

Late Bus:North Penn School District runs a late bus every Tuesday and Thursday. Students are picked up from Pennbrook at 5:15PM.

High School Late Bus:Late Buses from North Penn High School run Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.

Lunch Accounts:Remember to put money into your child’s lunch account. It is very easy with the new program: follow the on-screen instructions to create an account. There is a convenience charge each time a deposit is made through schoolcafe. Payments by cash or check can also be sent into school with your student.

STUDENT ABSENCES:

All absences should be made by a phone call, note, email or fax. If you have reported the absence to attendance by anyone of these means, you DO NOT have to notify the school in any other way. If your student arrives late, they must present an excuse for tardiness at the attendance office. If a phone call, email, note or fax is not received by the attendance office, the absence will be unexcused.

Days Absent:When a student is absent for three or more days a request can be made for missed assignments through Mrs. Behrens or by ou can also check your student’s teacher’s web page on Pennbrook’s website. Most teachers post their assignments on a regular basis.

Vacation:If going on vacation during the school year please make sure to send a note at least one week in advance to the Attendance Office. If your absence will exceed ten school days, you will need to contact Ms. Janeen Marzewski, Registrar, at 215-368-0400 to make an appointment to re-register before returning to school.

Student Illness/Nurse:Students should not be using cell phones to call home when they are ill. Students need to visit the Nurse and the Nurse should contact the parents to come and pick up their student. Please remind your children regarding this rule.

Visitors:All visitors to Pennbrook are required to show their NPSD staff ID or a driver’s license at our reception desk. If you are coming to an IEP, Team or Teacher meeting or to volunteer, you must show your license and register with our new security system.

Information Changes: If the home address, home/cell phone number, email address or guardianship of your child changes, please contact the Guidance Secretary, Mrs. Lancia r call 215-853-1610

Parents Please Note:If you are withdrawing your student from Pennbrook due to a family move or changing to another school within the District or out of state – please email Mrs. Lancia, Guidance Secretary,,so records can be copied and sent. Mrs. Lancia will email you the forms necessary so she can withdraw your student.
